Chapter One — The Man Nobody Saw

Part II

The next morning, Lewis woke before his alarm.

He didn't feel different.

That was the strange part.

The same cracked ceiling stared back at him. The same old phone rested beside him. The same problems waited outside his door.

But something inside him had shifted.He sat on the edge of the bed and opened his notebook.For years, he had written down dreams he never followed.

This time, he wrote only three words:

BUILD. LEARN. RISE.

He stared at them.

Then his phone buzzed.

Another message.

This one was from someone he knew.

“You should probably give up. Be realistic.”

Lewis read it twice.

His fingers hovered over the keyboard.

The old Lewis would have replied.

He would have explained himself. Defended his choices. Tried to prove that he wasn't a failure.

Instead, he deleted the notification.

He opened a blank page.

If people wanted to underestimate him, he would let them.

For the first time, Lewis understood something powerful:

Silence wasn't surrender.

Sometimes silence was preparation.

He didn't know exactly where he was going.

He only knew one thing.

He had spent enough years surviving other people's expectations.

Now he was going to build his own.And this time—

he wasn't asking for permission.
