"So you go around arresting anyone you feel like," Chief said, his eyes darting from the blonde girl that sat in the interrogation room to Damien "She's the last person seen with diavous, the lights happen to turn off and suddenly his dead?, she's the killer, I'm f*****g telling you" Damien said, his hands pointing to the girl who of no doubt couldn't see or hear them. "You flew all the way to Vegas without my consent, came back with a suspect who, if I might add, may be innocent, the real killer runs free, why we have a hooker locked up!" Chief yelled "does she look like someone who could pull a trigger, let alone slit a man's throat, and a man three times the size she is" Damien sighed looking away from chief focusing his eyes on the girl instead "You're just begging to be fired, aren't you?" "Let me talk to her, then you decide," Damien said, walking out the door and through the one the blonde girl sat, cuffed to the table. her eyes came incontact with Damien the minute he stepped in, she glanced down his body from his blue shirt to his dark jeans, to the holster that held his gun. his brown eyes matched his short brown hair, and her eyes moved to the scuff on his jaw from a not so neat shaving. Damien walked closer to the seat opposite her. There was already a file spread out before him, a file that said she doesn't exist. "What's your name?" He asked calmly. His eyes were fixed on her dark ones. she remained quiet. "you've got nothing on you, no ID, no ATM, no record, not even as much as a speeding ticket" Damien sighed "you basically don't exist, so I'll ask again" he leaned towards her "what is your name?" she remained motionless, staring at Damien like she didn't understand a word he said, Damien wondered if that was the case. he sighed, tapping his fingers on the table and getting impatient. "Do you understand English?" He asked and still got no response "ah f**k this" Damien stood up and walked towards the door "it's funny how a few men are dead and everyone's running around looking for justice" Damien stopped in his tracks. he turned to her "what about the hundreds they've killed, who's gonna find justice for them?" "what are you talking about?" Damien asked walking over to the seat opposite her. he sat. his hands intertwined together, resting on the steel table in front of them. "Justice?" He tilted his head."Is that what you think you're doing?" The blonde girl narrowed her eyes at him,"over sixty men dead for what? Your own twisted version of justice, " She scoffed "If you wanted justice, you should have done it the right way," Damien said "And what is the right way?" She asked "Through the system, through the cops," Damien said. Instantly, she threw her head back in laughter. Damien stared at her unamused. He only met her 12 hours ago, and she was already driving him crazy. "The cops?" She asked, her smile faded immediately turning into a stern as she leaned forward staring straight into damiens eyes, even Damien was stunned at the sudden change "where were the cops when those men raided home's huh?" Damien narrowed his eyes "took girls in as s*x workers, sold boys for human trafficking, killed the father and made the mother wipe their feet, Where were the f*****g cops then!?" She yelled, Damien stared at her, he could almost see the pain in her eyes. ot made him wonder if they did all this to her. "is that what happened to you?" Damien asked, she smiled and leaned back into her chair. she ignored him again. he looked at her before nodding his head. "Fine, you'll get plenty of time to answer." Damien stood up and walked towards the door. "Time is exactly what I do not have." Damien turned to her, wondering what she meant, but before he could ask, the entire lights went off.
