It was mid-afternoon when Lileah finally decided that a proper break was indeed required. She prepared them both a tolerable meal – quite the achievement given the state of the produce which Krashnar kept in his cold store. Despite previously lecturing the shaper on the poor quality of his provisions, Krashnar had paid little attention to her words – what little fruit he possessed was overripe, and the bread was now stale. She made a mental note to venture out of the hide to acquire fresh edible goods the following cycle, assuming Lileah did not take a turn for the worse during the night.
