You might think that Vampires are only mythology, but unfortunately, it's not.
Because I'm a Vampire.
Not just an ordinary Vampire, but a high-class Vampire.
However, it doesn't mean that you're a high-class vampire, you can do and have anything you want. Well, it's also not that easy to have everything you want, because just like in human society, we also have ranks that will define our positions in Vampire society. We also have things to follow and receive orders.
Ghouls also exist, and they're the sworn enemies of the Vampires. The conflict between Ghouls and Vampires made humans more afraid than they already are. Vampires drink blood; Ghouls eat people. Humans became their food, and that continued for years.
However, the time came when humans didn't just sit there and do nothing, instead, they fought back. They built weapons and all kinds of stuff to not let themselves repeat what happened to the human race in the past years. Slowly, they gained the power to match the Vampires and Ghouls.
The three races fought for years, but they realized that what they had been doing all the years was all nonsense. They signed a peace treaty, and that's when peace started between the three races.
But things don't always happen as you planned. The Ghouls began to hunt vampires and humans, and there, the reconciliation ended.
The conflict started again between the three races, and since then, it never ended. They never signed a peace treaty ever again, and that has continued up until now. It's not a war, but more like hatred against each other.
Being in a world like this sucks.
Imagine the whole world being a battlefield, innocent people getting infected, just because of the Higher-ups' hatred against each other. But I guess I'm also like them. I kept following orders from higher-ups, not thinking of what was about to happen next, and just cared about myself.
My life has always been like that for three months, and that made me promoted from being a lower-class vampire to a higher-class vampire in just three months. I've always been obedient, that's why a lot of people started to hate me. Not just Ghouls, even Vampires... and humans. Everyone wants to kill me and eat me.
Do you know what it feels like to be targeted by everyone by just simply following orders from higher-ups?
My life has never been easy, and will never be easy.
I was too scared to be seen, that's why I ran away, and never showed myself ever again. Not until an invitation was sent to me by a black crow, inviting me to attend the party in Royal Palace for being part of the Class Structure.
I had doubts, but I instantly realized that nothing would happen to me if I'll be scared for the rest of my life. That's why I accepted the invitation, not to celebrate the party, but to face my fear. I wore an off-shoulder black gown with a slit on the right side and wore black heels. I also put on light make-up, to make myself look more attractive than I already am. Just kidding.
Exactly as I entered the Palace, they were already glaring at me. I knew from the start that they already knew that I was coming, so I'm not completely shocked when they're already glaring at me and killing me in their imaginations. They didn't even bow and gave respect to me. But, I didn't mind them at all. They're just Vampires lower than me. They already knew that they stood no chance of fighting me, not even a little bit of chance.
I gave respect to the King of Vampires by bowing in front of him.
"It's glad to see you here, Adrianna Ali. How long has it been since you disappeared?" He said and handed me a glass of wine. I accepted it and toasted with him when he motioned his glass to toast with mine.
"It's not that long, Your Majesty. I see that you are still as handsome as before." I said and smiled. "Oh, wait, I must be mistaken. You're more handsome than before." I joked and laughed. Aish, hang in there Adrianna! You had better make a good impression again!
He laughed. "You're also as lovely as before, Lady." He said.
Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous just standing in the crowd. How could I not when all their attention was on me?!
Out of nervousness, I walked out of the crowd where there were a few Vampires. As I was looking for a place where there are not many Vampires, I passed by in a dark corner of the palace. It seems like there are no Vampires there. It might be safe and quiet. I looked at the surroundings, and when there was no one looking, I immediately walked towards it. It was a balcony.
I instantly entered the balcony and closed the door as fast as I could.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath when I finally got out of the crowd. I faced my back while my eyes were still closed.
Nothing beats the cold night breeze---
I was shocked when I felt like there was someone else on the balcony. Someone's staring at me. Why didn't I feel his presence earlier? That's weird.
I immediately bowed to him with respect, and he did the same thing. I was waiting for him to say something, but it looks like he has no plan to do that at all. So I walked towards him, but not that close. I leaned on the balustrade and raised my head to look at the sky full of stars and a bright full moon.
I was always wondering if I ever became a moon... could I also bring light to others when they are in their darkest times? And the Moon's unusually bright tonight. Is it because it's a full moon?
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" He said while watching the sky, then looked at her with full of admiration in his eyes, yet unknown feelings. She's so beautiful... it's like her beauty is pulling me. Her eyes are so pretty, especially her lips. It looks so soft... Wait, what am I thinking?!
I was shocked when he finally talked, but chuckled after. "Yeah, it is. It's so pretty," I said and looked at him. Hmm, he's handsome... but, too serious.
I immediately looked away when the man doesn't intend to evade me. I think I should go. Yeah, I should go. "I better be going," I said, and bowed to him again. But when I was about to go out, the pretty boy spoke.
"Do you mind telling me your name, Bellezza?" He said. Bellezza? I asked myself, confused. What's Bellezza?
"Why? Are you perhaps falling for me?" I teasingly said.
"Possibly. So, would you mind telling me your name already, Bellezza?" He seriously said. Wow, he's so bold... and bossy.
"It's Adrianna," I said and smiled. "How about you?" I asked. His aura's screaming that he's not an ordinary vampire.
Why is this girl asking my name? Does she not know me? Is she pretending? I'm a prince of this palace she's stepping in! How could she not know me?! He said to himself, panicking. "It's Xingchul." But then, he seriously said and stared at her like she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Since she is so beautiful tonight, I'll let her go.
"I see," I said and smiled again. Psh, he's so serious. Can't he even smile or something? He's awkward. Just when I was about to talk again, I suddenly smelled a scent of blood... scattered all over the place. I glanced at the pretty boy, and it seemed like he smelled the same thing I did.
We both nodded and ran. But, when I thought that he might not be able to catch up with me, I stopped halfway, but to my great surprise, he was already there beside me. He glared at me and gave me a "why did you stop" look, so I just rolled my eyes and started running again and got to our destination.
I was surprised when the place was full of blood. Even the walls and ceiling were covered in blood. There were even corpses hanging on the wall, and others were lying on the floor.
Both of them already knew who did this... It was none other than the Ghouls. These are done by Ghouls... the disgusting Ghouls.
"Your Majesty? Your Majesty, where are you? Can you hear me? How about the others?" Xingchul said, telepathically.
Huh? Who was talking? Was that pretty boy? And why does he seek His Majesty? Is he the King's bodyguard or something? But why is a bodyguard alone on the balcony, and not next to His Majesty?
I looked at the man beside me, and he was rather calm. "Wow, was it you calling His Majesty?" I asked, and that's when he looked at me back. "So you can do telepathy? Then can you read my mind, too?" I added.
Xingchul was honestly shocked when Adrianna talked, telepathically, but of course, he didn't show it. I just opened my telepathy for His Majesty and I so we can communicate, but how can this woman hear me? Maybe I just misheard it? He looked at her, confused. "Yeah, probably. Because that’s impossible. How can she hear my telepathy?" He asked himself and looked away again.
"You know that I can hear you, right?" I said and raised an eyebrow. Just by looking at his confused face... hmm, it's kinda cute.
His serious face, sharp jawline, long eyelashes, sharp nose, pouty red lips, golden eyes, nice body, and tall. In short, he's perfect. If I still haven't been married for the next 30 years, I'll ask for this man's hand. Seriously. I mean, if he's still single by then. Wait, is he even single now?!
Wait, what if he could hear me right now?!
"Shut up for a while, Bellezza. Let's look for vampires first that are still alive. And no, I can't read your mind. Telepathy and mind-reading are two different things. One more thing, I know telepathy and mind-reading, but I just can't seem to read your mind. For some reason, I can't read it. It was closed." He said and closed his telepathy. I sighed out of relief but got confused instantly.
That's two different things? For real? I didn't know that. But, so what? They are both amazing, that's all. Hmph!
Xingchul was confused when she was staring at him for no reason. Why is she staring at me?! And why is my heart beating so fast?! Is she angry that I followed her?! Wait, I didn't follow her at all! I wanted to go to this place because this is where the smell of blood is stronger, and it's just a coincidence that we came to the same place! Yeah, that's right! He said to himself, nervously. He composed himself before talking. "Are you done admiring me?" He said and looked at his side.
Damn, her red eyes are really attractive! The other vampires' eyes never affected me, but this girl... is something. He said to himself again and looked away. I can feel my face turning red just by looking at her!
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah, I'm done," I said and smiled. I was honestly annoyed when he didn't even glance at me. This pretty boy is rude.
He started walking away, "Good, let us----
"Found you, Lady Adrianna."
Xingchul was alerted when he felt an extreme aura behind him. But, he just found himself... being alone with the dead bodies... no Adrianna--- no Bellezza.
