Mark turns off the engine of the car and parks it in their driveway. He knew Stella would get mad because of the noise but that thought made him chuckle, even imagining her frowned face.
“Why are you smirking?” Haze asks
He turns to the passenger side and he sees Haze’s gaze at him.
He moves forward and kisses her lightly on the lips.
“It was nothing sweetheart, I’m just glad to be home” he answers
They proceed to get out of the car and go inside their house. He greets his parents and Haze gives Ryan their gift to him. He turned 16, they got him a new phone.
Ding dong, the doorbell rang
“Hello! Chris and Melissa! Come in, come in!” Sam, Mark’s mother welcomes the Tevens. She gets the cake and proceeds to lead them to the kitchen where they chit chatted.
Stella’s brother gave him a high five and looks for his brothers
“Where’s your sister?” He asks Troy, wondering if she’s coming
“She just woke up, it’ll take a while” stella’s brother answered while fading, he was going to the basement to join his brothers, Ryan and Rence. Their parents turned the basement into a mini gaming area for the brothers to enjoy.
He scans the room and finds Haze on her cellphone and laptop. She was working
He proceeds to the second floor
He opens his door and looks at the window
“There she is” he breathes, Stella in her underwear putting on make up while dancing to the song.
He moves to the corner where he knows he wont be noticed
And he proceeds to just watch her
Watching her sway those hips
Watching her move those hands
Watching her twirling her body to the beat
Watching her hair flowing in the wind
He keeps on watching, entranced
“Damn it Mark” he stops “Get a hold of yourself, she’s only 24”
He closes his curtains and closes his room. It was not the first time he did that. Countless times Stella forgets to close her curtains and he’d get a full view. Even those times when she had her previous boyfriends.
He saw it too.
“I should really stop doing that” he mutters and goes back to the party downstairs.
