In anger, she turned to the phone. It was her bestie, Viva calling.
She calmed down and picked up the phone
"What's up girl?"
"I'm in a very shitty mood, but never mind, I'd be okay by tomorrow, so why the call?" Ava questioned
"I can quite recall that it isn't a crime to phone my bestie at any time" Viva said
They both laughed over it
"Sorry if I sounded that way, I'm just really pissed. So, what's up?" asked Ava
"Nothing much, just some gossips, and I felt like checking up on you, that's all" Viva said from the other end of the line
"Well, I sound okay, so I don't think I need to specify I'm fine. And, what gossips have you brought this time?" Ava giggled
Viva also laughed
" I'm not sure it's a laughing issue Ava, you'd literally be more pissed on hearing this " Viva said, her voice denoting seriousness.
Ava frowned.
"What could it be Viva? Spill the beans already and don't make me wait. You know waiting would actually make me more pissed than I could ever be" Ava said, more like scolded.
Viva scoffed
"Chill girl. I'm gonna tell you, alright? Don't erupt like a volcano on me, chill"
"So, it's about Mila" Viva added
Ava furrowed her brows, knowing it was awful news
"What about her?" Ava asked, trying so hard to contain her anger.
"The ceremonies to make her Alpha Phil's Luna would begin tomorrow" Viva said.
Ava's face turned red, flinging her phone across the room, she yelled.
"No! No!"
"This can't happen!" she yelled further as she gets up and starts banging on her room door hoping for anyone to open it
"Father! Mother! My brother! Anyone just open the door" she yelled, this time, crying
"Open the door!, open the door, open the door!" she cried.
Frequencies of Viva's voice could still be heard faintly from the broken, and almost destroyed phone...
OVER AT THE BLOODSTONE PACK
Mila finished with her shower and looked through the exquisite wardrobe, that was strictly for the very rich.
Night robes made of 100% silk were all hanged beautifully in the wooden wardrobe. Fluffy flip flops were also to chose from.
Mila gasped
"I never knew living in luxury could be this good, so many clothes"
A knock came at the door drawing Mila's attention
"Come in" Mila said.
Two ladies walked in, they were the maids earlier sent by Phil.
"How may I help you?" Mila questioned staring directly at their eyes
"I'm sorry for disturbing ma'am, we were sent by master to help you freshen up" one of them said
"Oh, it's alright. But I don't need help getting dressed, I'd manage alright?"
"We're sorry ma'am, but master would be furious if he finds out his orders weren't executed. We'd be in big trouble ma'am" the other one explained
Mila sighed
"Master? Is Phil that bad?" Mila questioned
"Yes ma'am, he's always cold, and when he's pissed, it's even worse, he could kill anyone who comes in his way"
Mila was horrified. Was she going to become the Luna to such an Alpha?
An Alpha who gets pissed at the slightest opportunity?
Was this her doom? Could she have just leaped from the pan into the fire?
Should she tell Phil she didn't want to be his Luna?
All these questions ran through her mind
The maids stared at her suspiciously
"Ma'am, are you alright?" Bianca, one of them questioned, startling Mila
"Ye...yes, I...I'm...I'm fine" she stammered
"You two may leave. Don't worry, Phil won't be furious, I'd talk to him alright?"
"Ma'am, we can't take such risk. We'd be killed if master finds out. I'm sorry ma'am, but our lives are more important" the other one, Agnes said
This got Mila slightly pissed, but she tried not to show it. She was once in their shoes and understands how it feels
"Phil won't do anything to the both of you, I promise. I'd talk to him alright?" she convinced with a welcoming smile
"If you say so ma'am" Agnes replied and turned away, Bianca following suit.
Mila sighed as she closed the door behind her, resting her back on it
"What have you gotten yourself into Mila? Why were the maids filled with so much fear for Phil? Is this how cold and ruthless he could be?" she questioned herself.
"No, stop it. You're overreacting. That's why you are going to be his Luna, to change him, and not to live in fear like others".
She sighed, returning her gaze back to the wardrobe.
Phil paced left to right, back and forth in his chambers. He was worried.
He kept on thinking about the call, the call he received from Alpha Kif, founder of the Wildwaters Pack, declaring war against his pack.
The two packs had never been close, right from the last 6 centuries. The dispute was caused by a Luna.
A Luna who was married off to the Wildwaters Pack, who ran off and still came to remarry in the Bloodstone Pack, long before the Moon Goddess came about.
Ever since then, the Wildwaters Pack had always accused the Bloodstone Pack of k********g their Luna, and till date, whenever it was time for a Luna to be chosen in the Bloodstone Pack, a war always ensued between both packs, on the basis that the losing team, claims the Luna.
Phil was nervous, which was not in his nature. The Alphas before him were never scared when it was war time, so why was he?
Was it the fear of losing his long awaited Luna?
Or him having to wait another 6 years before he gets another Luna? Which might not even be granted to him?
Or was he falling for Mila and didn't want to lose her?
