I thought he was joking. I stood there staring at him for a full minute until I realized he wasn’t kidding. Only Jake would have me almost naked in his office and yet ask me to get dressed. I rolled my eyes but did as he asked when my phone started to buzz from where I had dropped it on the table.
To say my ego was not bruised would have been a lie. I grabbed my things and was about to leave when he grabbed my upper arm and pulled me to a stop. I refused to look at him, it would have meant letting him see how I truly felt but it was Jake and he already knew.
