Annie didn’t tell Madam Don about her facial injuries, as Madam Don wouldn’t be able to handle Cristina anyway.
Unexpectedly, the next day, Madam Don went to see Chairman Don herself.
In the spacious family office, upon hearing that Madam Yi’s wheelchair was being pushed in, Chairman Don didn’t even look up. “If you have something to say, make it quick. I have work to do!”
His tone was formulaic and cold, devoid of warmth.
Madam Don tightened her grip on her hands resting on her lap and lowered her head.
She was the type of woman who appeared delicate and gentle, though age had brought her weariness and haggardness...
After a moment, Madam Don raised her head and said softly, “Don Éclatg, I want to discuss Annie with you…”
“There’s nothing to discuss. I’ve given her a chance, but she didn’t take it seriously.”
“No, there’s no need to Annieounce her as a foster daughter to the outside world…”
Chairman Don was momentarily taken aback by her unexpected statement and looked at her suspiciously. “What are you trying to say?”
Madam Don thought for a moment, as if making a decision, and began, “Annie has always been a very capable and reliable child, and she has great poise. I believe there was another reason for what happened at the banquet. Madam Don continued to rub the edge of her clothes without looking up. “Annie is very smart and talented. She would make a valuable perfumer for Don Éclat Company, which would be beneficial for our family…”
“What exactly are you trying to say?”
“…Charles Don is still unmarried,” Madam Yi’s voice was barely audible. “They seem to get along well.”
Chairman Yi’s face froze momentarily before his anger flared up!
“Is this something you can decide?!” Chairman Yi’s voice was harsh.
How dare this woman suggest such a thing? What was she thinking?!
He angrily capped his pen and walked back and forth in the study, clearly agitated.
However, despite his frustration with Madam Don and his dislike for Annie, he couldn’t deny that the suggestion had some merit. Even though he disliked Annie, he didn’t want to lose a talented individual. Marrying Annie to Charles Don would resolve the tension with Shanshan and be the best solution…
