I broke up with Tom because I overheard him say that I'm just a thing to be used. Our relationship was secret anyway so we didn't have to deal with questions from others.
I got back with my ex, Max.
Two months after getting back with Max, Stacy, the new girl in school, had been making eyes at Max since her first day. I tried to brush it off as mere flirting, but deep down, I knew she was trouble.
One day, as we were walking down the hallway, Stacy approached us. "Hey, Elliana, Max," she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "What's up?"
I forced a smile. "Not much, Stacy. Just heading to class."
Stacy's eyes locked onto Max. "Hey, Max, can I talk to you for a minute?"
Max hesitated, but I nodded. "It's fine, I'll go ahead to class."
