“Of course, as long as you need,” Jandy said. “Does Faith know about what’s going on?”
Nathan had to leave Faith a brief message asking her to call him but hadn’t gone into detail. Not that he was able to share much with Jandy either. Just that he was working a case that was particularly difficult, he felt the person he was chasing might decide to try to involve Bella directly in retaliation, and that he’d feel better if she stayed in Texas for a while until this got wrapped up.
“I will reach out to Faith too,” Jandy offered. “Between all of us, we’ll make sure she’s taken care of, and protected.”
“Thanks, sis, I owe you guys big.”
“No, honey, you don’t. This is what family does.”
They hung up and he called Max.
