The mansion was half an hour’s drive from the city. It was imposing but homey. It surprised Madeline that the area became so rural after only a ten minutes’ drive out of the city. But she had to admit she knew little about the rural concept. She shouldn’t be calling an area rural based only on its lack of high-rises and traffic and the fact that she could hear animals. She knew for a fact that some people in New York had pet tigers in their apartments in the middle of the city. And New York was obviously not a jungle.
Ciaran had chosen to stay in Werribee because the LeBlancs had a lab nearby. He needed to make further arrangements for the trip the day after tomorrow.
