I took the empty seat that was beside Amanda and smiled at the bar attendant, who returned my smile and, to my surprise, greeted me first.
“Hello, Mrs Rhyde.” He greeted her with a drag. " What can I offer you?” He asked, and I made my surprise obvious, seeing that Amanda had turned to look in my direction.
" That was fast? How did you guess right?” I asked instead with a smile that suggested friendship to the young guy, and he bought it really fast.
“Well, who doesn't know the new bride of Mr Rhyde that has got all tongues wagging because of her beauty?” He asked and my smile widened as I tried to hold my laugh.
" That's a really cool way to put it, but, what do you mean by new bride, was there an old one?” I asked but more in whispers, loud enough for Amanda to hear.
