It was one of those evenings where the atmosphere of the town seemed to hum with an energy that didn’t quite belong. The lights from the small clubs flickered with a pulse, and people were scattered around in groups, chatting, laughing, and letting the night unfold around them. This wasn't the life that Starry was used to and Chloe knew this. Whatever he was doing now, it was for her. Why, he was aloof and cold in one moment and in another moment, he was being a nice man, doing all he could to make her happy. She knew he would try to trivialize it when she brought it up.
