The ride back to Starry’s home was quiet. Chloe stared out of the window, watching the scenery blur as the car sped down the road. The city was awake and bustling, but her mind was elsewhere. Starry sat beside her, scrolling through his phone, his face unreadable as usual. Chloe didn’t bother trying to make conversation. She was still processing everything from the night before—the scrutiny, the awkward dinner, and the overwhelming tension.
