Chloe could feel her frustration growing as Starry and Oscar started to talk again, this time they were back to talking about the party and the invitation. Oscar was able to mention a few people who'd be present while Starry looked uninterested at best.
They went on with their conversation, as if she wasn’t standing right there. They spoke about her decisions, her time, and even her transportation, all without asking her what she wanted. It was exhausting.
Without saying another word, she turned on her heels and began walking away. She didn’t have the patience for this. If they wanted to argue over her life, they could do it without her.
But before she could get far, she felt a firm grip on her wrist. Startled, she turned to see Starry holding onto her hand, his expression unreadable.
