Chapter 7 - She’s Arrived

651 Words
Perspective: Damien My doors swung open and as I looked to see my fated Queen knowing she was the only person alive who could pass my barrier without me welcoming her in first and my breath hung in my throat. She was the most beautiful being I’d ever seen and a look rested upon her rose tinted cheeks so fierce yet warm I knew she’d be everything the realms needed. Her brunette curls rolled over her shoulders with the top half pinned into a neat little bun and the Queens dress fit her like a brand new pair of cloves. Catching my breath I told her to take a seat in the chair next to me and close the doors so we could speak in private. As she sat the complete serious look wavered as she tugged at the corset clinging to her clearly not used to such a tight attire. I couldn’t help but grin at how awkwardly she had sat and seemed to be struggling to breathe in such clothing. Quickly I linked souls with Lilly who my sister had hand picked to be her handmaiden and someone we knew would be absolutely loyal to the Queen “Lilly I need you to get our new Queen something more comfortable to wear.” Right away she responded to let me know she was on it and would arrive as quickly as possible. When I mentioned being able to get her a change of clothes the newfound Queen her face turned the color of an apple and she seemed irritated but also embarrassed which only made me enjoy her more. I knew she’d be a handful just by the look on her face and then it came, the sassy reply. No one in any realm would dare to speak to me and not such a way aside from my sister or elders but before I could even respond a knock rapped at the door. Lilly was here with the new change of clothes and Alea as I had learned my new Queens name to be looked surprised. After explaining the how’s of what had occurred in order for Lilly to just appear out of what seemed to be nowhere I sent off Alea to change so that she could at least be comfortable for the discussion to i was about to drop on her lap. Her name rolled through my mind and my dragons soul roared in pleasure and as the door to the bathing room opened my heart skipped into my throat. The feeling of needing her was so strong. Gathering my composure I looked to the fire to keep my attention elsewhere. For a bit we talked and I explained everything she needed to know wanting her to be safe whether she chose to stay here or not but what I didn’t expect was for her to demand to help. She was intent on it and there would be no stopping her. After that we sat lost in thought completely silent for a while just watching the fire crackle and burn which brought me a warmth I hadn’t felt in years. Something I truly thought I would never experience again since the loss of my mother. The Gods definitely chose her I thought smiling softly. She has just as much attitude and demanding as my mother did but her own sense of person. She was for lack of better words, absolutely incredible. I’m clearly in for one hell of a time with her and that I am excited for. However the days to come I was more wary for than I had ever been in my entire life. Please be safe my fated wife. I’ve yet to know you well and that is something I long for. Getting to know every corner of your mind. Getting to see you blossom into the Queen we all need. Welcome home.
