I woke up to an empty bed. Ryan’s side was already cold. The smell of coffee drifted in with faint movement downstairs, so I followed it to the kitchen. Ryan stood in front of the stove, shirtless, his hair still damp from the shower, black joggers hanging low enough to show the line of his waist. I leaned against the doorway and watched him, the way his arms moved as he flipped the eggs, moving around the kitchen with ease. I didn’t realize he’d noticed me until he chuckled. “Keep looking at me like that and I won’t finish cooking.” Heat rushed to my face as I walked in, trying to act normal. “Good morning.” “Morning.” I slid onto one of the stools by the island.
