I just woke up to find Jacob was no longer beside me. I felt a lot of relief because he treated my wound the previous night, something I couldn't manage on my own. He even bought me an ointment for my wound before we went home. He took care of me. I didn't even know if he slept at all because when I woke up, I had just read his text to me at 4:30 am.

That was all his text said, yet my heart was still racing. I couldn't stay still because of that message! It was almost noon and I had been ready for a while. My family had left the house, and only the household staff were left.
