She had a dream. In it, Jayden was arm-in-arm with an indistinct woman. At first, the woman shouted at her, accusing her of being shameless and claiming she had killed her parents. Natalie tried to explain, shaking her head, only to realize that the woman was Lucy. But in the blink of an eye, Lucy’s face transformed into Isabelle’s.
Isabelle was wearing a fitted, wine-red dress that accentuated her curves, clinging to Jayden like a serpent. She smiled at Natalie and asked, “I’m leaving with Jayden. Do you have any objections?”
Jayden stared at Natalie with disdain. “Get out of here. Haven’t you embarrassed yourself enough?”
