Chapter Fifty Five

1049 Words
My book review had been completed Tuesday, and thank goodness it had been approved. In fact they were intrigued, wondering if I could finish the book quicker so they could publish it. But no way was I pushing the dates up for any reason whatsoever. Truth be told, all those thoughts were distraction from how my body felt this Wednesday afternoon knowing it was going to meet with a guy I'd dreamed about more than needed since Sunday. I mean, crazy dreams that I will not be getting in details about (because they're certainly dirty). But well here I was in the middle of three giggling and teasing females as they dressed me up like I was a doll. “Oh sweetheart, you'll have Austin unable to take his eyes off your beauty,” Katie commented as she dabbed the powder brush on my face. “He'll be drooling and probably glue you to his side before another man steals you, because trust me, you're that hot,” Oliver chuckled from where she stood arranging for the perfect jewelry, perfumes and every other thing I'd need. “You two will be the light of this event,” Layla worked wonders with my hair. Her words were followed by another fit of giggles from them, while I just rolled my eyes, though secretly, a part of me would love their words to be true. “I don't think I'll mind you ruin this makeup if it has anything to do with him kissing you dead,” Katie dropped the brush, picking up a wine lipstick and adding that on my lips. Layla snickered, “but don't let him run his hand through your hair too much so all my effort doesn't ruin.” “Guys enough already,” my head shake proved I couldn't take their teasing anymore. Who knows, I might even explode. Oliver let out a chortle, limping towards me with all she'd bought, “this will all suit perfectly.” After about an hour, they were done with changing me, but certainly not with the teasing. At least when I glanced at my reflection, their efforts left me awed at the beauty in front of me. The dress was perfect, hugging at my curves in all the perfect places. Layla had packed my hair in a beautiful bun, letting loose two curls at each side to make me look even more hot. The makeup wasn't heavy, and only added more beauty to my natural self. And let's talk about all the jewelry Oliver had placed on me that shone like diamond. Certainly beautiful. “And now for the final touch,” before I could even ask Oliver what she meant, I was being bathed with a jasmine scented perfume. “Hmm, now she looks perfect,” Katie clapped, obviously the most excited here. “Aren't you going to get dressed?” I had to ask when she was still in a baby blue tank top and violet colored shorts. “I will.” She rushed to where she'd dropped her bag of clothes. “Hmm, hope I don't make Kelvin run late.” I decided it wasn't important to remind her she was the one who invited him, so no he couldn't actually run late. “I'll help with your hair,” Layla immediately volunteered, probably loving the hair doing thing. Hmm, maybe she could start a profession out of it. “And I'll do your make—” but before I completed it, the sound of the doorbell echoed. My heart did an unexpected leap at the thought of Austin actually at the door. It didn't help that the three erupted in a fit of deafening squeals. That only made me feel a little nervous. Did I look good enough? Would he think I'd overdressed? Wait, had I overdressed? Before I had time to even think that further, they were dragging me out of the room then down the stairs till we were all by the door. As Katie went to throwing open the door, Oliver squeezed my hand, leaning in to whisper, “I’ll help with her makeup, you just have fun. You deserve happiness.” That confused me a little, but before I had a chance to question it, the door was swung open, revealing a break taking figure of the one man that'd occupied my sanity all week. He was the most handsome in the white shirt he had on with black suit and trousers, then a beautiful black bow. His hair had been sleeked nearly to the back, only adding more hotness in his body. If he was surprised to see four girls in front of him, then he was good at concealing that. “Austin!” Katie jumped in his hands. “You're here early, were to missing our princess?” He hugged back, before releasing her, “I'm the CEO so I would expect you to know I'd arrive early.” His gaze travelled across the group before landing on me where it slowly drew over my appearance then got back on my face. My cheeks burned under the stare that I had to be grateful for the blush on my face so maybe it could be mistaken as that. Sadly, I wasn't the only one who noticed his gaze because the squeal from my three friends was enough to make the color rise even further. “Let's get going then,” I rushed to take his elbow, turning him so we both started towards his car. Could they embarrass me any further. Well, that's what I thought, not until Layla screamed from behind, “when you two kiss, don't forget to not do too much harm on the perfectly made hair! I still want to get a photo of it once she's back.” Those words alone made me wish the ground would just swallow me whole. It was expressed in my wince as his car came to view. “Don't worry, it's very natural for friends to tease.” He offered me a smile that went straight to my heart. The words were enough to remove all embarrassment, and just focus solely on his presence. This was certainly going to be a fun day. My body sensed that.
