Chapter 6 quarrel

800 Words
The teacher looked embarrassed and shook her head helplessly. "I'm truly sorry. The parents didn't disclose this information to us when they were applying for the transfer. They strongly requested that their child be transferred, so we couldn't ask any more questions." "Okay, teacher. Thank you. Excuse me." Lucy Morano thanked the teacher with a forced smile. She clenched her fists tightly, suppressing the surging emotions within her, trying to remain calm and composed. Back in the car, she slumped back in the seat, her hands drooping limply on the steering wheel. Tears finally flowed uncontrollably. She had only been away from home for a year. It was fine if the locks had been changed, but even her daughter's preschool had been changed. What infuriated her even more was that William Frye's mother and sister hadn't told her before she left, even though her daughter had already moved to a new preschool. They were deliberately trying to make fun of her! Lucy Morano cried for a long time in the car, her vision blurred by tears. But deep within her, a fire of stubborn determination burned brighter. She would never accept being manipulated by fate. She was determined to win back her daughter's heart. She also wanted to learn the truth about her parents' deaths and reclaim the estate they had guarded their entire lives. After Lucy Morano regained her composure, she drove back to the manor. As soon as she entered the house, she heard William Frye's mother and sister chirping behind her back: "That foolish woman, Lucy Morano, is so overestimating herself. She thinks she can become the mistress of this house just by returning. She's just daydreaming." "Mom, you're absolutely right. With her poor looks, how can she compare to Sister Sally? And she's crazy to think she can wrest Susanna from her. I think she's crazy," Sunny Frye chirped. Lucy Morano took a deep breath and walked into the living room with steady steps, her eyes fixed on William Frye's mother and sister. She glanced at the mother and daughter with a sneer, feeling completely drained; they had found a new vampire candidate. The mother and daughter exchanged glances, their chattering instantly pausing before a new expression took hold. "Hey, Lucy Morano's back! Where's Susanna? Why isn't she with you?" Sunny Frye asked with a knowing smile. William Frye's mother, Martha Parisi, immediately added, "Our Susanna only has eyes for her Aunt Sally now. She doesn't even have eyes for her real mother anymore. I'd say, some people, stop wasting their time and energy." Lucy Morano brushed past the sofa where the mother and daughter sat. She didn't want to pay them any attention, but after much deliberation, she finally stopped. She slowly turned, her eyes like two sharp blades piercing William Frye's mother and sister. Her voice was so cold it seemed to freeze the air: "Stop pretending! Susannah didn't come back with me, don't you know? If you don't want me to pick up the child, just tell me straight away. There's no need to play all these tricks behind my back!" With these words, she turned and headed upstairs without hesitation. "Lucy Morano, stop! Explain yourself..." Martha Parisi jumped up from the sofa, her face flushing crimson. She pointed at Lucy Morano's back and shouted angrily. But Lucy Morano acted as if she hadn't heard anything and went straight back to her room. The door slammed shut, shutting out Martha Parisi's cries. Lucy Morano leaned against it, her eyes red, her heart filled with resentment and resentment. She didn't know how much longer she could stay in this family. Her daughter was her last hope, and there was nothing else she cared about. Lucy Morano spent a long afternoon at the kindergarten entrance, feeling the cold wind. She had just exchanged a few words with William Frye's mother and sister downstairs. Her temples ached, her whole body weak. She fell into bed and quickly fell asleep. In a half-dream, she drifted back to the time when she and William Frye had just begun dating. William Frye's eyes were filled with tenderness then. Hand in hand, they strolled beneath the cherry blossom trees that lined Los Angeles, petals falling like snow. They looked at each other and promised to grow old together. She married him immediately after graduating from college. Soon after, she became pregnant with Susanna William. During her pregnancy, Lucy Morano joyfully anticipated the arrival of her newborn, filled with longing for her future life. However, one day in her late pregnancy, she stumbled upon William Frye's secret. In his heart, William Frye still harbored his first love, Sally Breen. Even though they lived in different cities, they remained in touch. In fact, their daily interactions were even more frequent than hers.
