'That would be ten dollars ma'am' said the taxi driver I stare at my empty pockets in utter disbelief as I have nothing in them. I can't believe I forgot my purse at home. What a terrible night! 'Sir please give me a minute let me ask my friend for some cash' I'm about to knock on Emily's front door but she opens it before I get a chance to. 'Emmy, please can I borrow ten bucks from you? I have to pay the taxi driver and I have no cash on me' 'I got you covered b, just give me a min let me get my purse' Emily is such a sweetheart. She has been nothing but a sweetheart ever since the day I met her. Lol, I can't even remember when I met her. We have been childhood friends because our mums used to be the best of friends till her mum died some years back. She now lives with her dad in a small apartment. 'What happened this time Clare? Did that witch of a grandma strike again?' ' She's not a witch Emmy, stop calling her that. She's my grandma' 'Step-grandma to be precise and she doesn't take you as her grandchild, that's why she keeps treating you badly. Why did she drive you out of her house now?' 'She wants me to marry some dude that my sis refused to marry. It's a business deal. She has to get one of her granddaughters married to the heir of the family' 'What!! doesn't she remember that you're still in college' fumed Emily 'I don't think she cares about that Emmy. I'm so tired and confused. Ava refused to marry him because she heard that he's ugly, cold and mean' 'What did your mum say about it' 'What could she say Emmy? Nobody's going to listen to anything she says in that household. She tried talking to my grandma but to no avail. I just want to rest. 'Okay then, let's rest. We will talk about in the morning'
