How could one afternoon off create so much paperwork?
Well, when you put incompetent people in charge, they create more problems, which in turn creates more paperwork. This means that I had a pile of work waiting for me when I got to my office this morning—work that Camila was supposed to do when Alexander made her take my place.
Only, she can’t get anything done, so now I have to do it.
“Delta Ben, could you—”
“Layla, Prince Vincent has a massive announcement and wants everyone to gather for the news,” he says, waving me to follow him. My mind immediately goes to mine and Vincent’s interactions at the banquet, and I hope to everything blessed by the goddess that he isn’t about to announce that he wants me to go to his kingdom with him.
