"Babes, Are you free this weekend? I have got a surprise for you. "Hell, no," I smiled as I looked at the text I had sent. She must be pissed off right now. That is what I enjoy doing with her. Pissed off. "Okay, you will miss your chance. Sharad asked about you." Does she think I will fall for it? Her meow is far worse than any bark. My best friend is the only one in the entire world. The girl can turn everything upside down to get to work. How do I even meet her, to begin with? "You know how much I adore you, do not you?" If you love me, you will come. Wear the black dress we got last time. Do not just roll your eyes at it! "This is your first date." And I have to fall for it. She knows how to get me to say yes. I sighed and responded, "Okay, with a lazy emoji." I need to finish the report for today, but my back hurts and my wrist almost gave up writing continuously. "Dr. Reet, you have a food delivery." "I did not order anything." Just then, a message appeared: "Give yourself a break, eat, and remember me. 143" I opened the tiffin box, and the smell filled my nostrils, reawakening the hunger in my stomach that I had forgotten due to my work. I took a picture and sent it to her along with "1432" "1437" I laughed while food was in my mouth and accidentally spilled the soup. This girl! If not, everyone would assume she is my boyfriend. Life can be difficult, but it becomes easier when you have someone like her by your side. And then you realize that life is not always what it seems. Coming back to the present, I hope there are no emergencies this weekend. ____ I noticed it was 2:30 a.m. as I was about to finish the work. I think I will have to sleep here tonight. My back will break at this rate. I am a doctor, and I do not need one because it would be embarrassing. I need to take care of myself. Once more, it settled into my mind. It is become more and more exhausting to look after yourself. I want to go on a trip, have a date, meet new people, and socialize. It is not as if I am leading a life I never wanted. My lifelong ambition was to become a doctor. I was a studious student. I studied hard for this career, putting in 18 hours per day. However, it has now turned into 18 hours of work. I do not have any complaints. It is simply... I just want to experience something new in my life. Something makes my heart race. Thinking about all of this makes my heart heavy; there are times in life when you need someone to share your feelings with. It's not like Dhruvi isn't enough. My bestie, after my parents, is my family, who always makes me smile. She makes me feel safe and encourages me to share everything with her. I smiled as she recalled how a boy proposed to me via text. She laughed her ass off while looking at screenshots of the messages I sent. Yes, I have received many proposals in my life. And never accepted anybody. Throughout my life, I have only studied. So I never made a commitment to anyone. I never had a desire to be with anyone. But now I will think about it. It is time for me to live my life in love and fall in love. ________________ "FIRE" The sizzle on a grill is caused by water vaporizing and hissing as it escapes the meat. Starting with low and slow to bring the meat up to temperature, then using a high flame on the direct heat side to give it a charred crust without burning. Autumn special pumpkin soup and salad on a plate, ready to be served. "FIRE, Table No. 12." "FIRE, table number 8, grilled chicken wings." "Okay, guys, hurry up. Mike checks the sauces. Amar, stir the soup over low heat, check for thickness, and finally add the scallions. Yes, that is fine, Vicky. "Come on, guys..." A sudden loud noise caught everyone's attention. The oven door blew open, releasing a fireball that shattered the kitchen window. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the kitchen was safe. The Head Chef looked at the mess and picked up the floor wiper, saying, "Aastha, go help Carol in KOTs." and continued to clean up the mess. Fortunately, the damage was not extensive. He can handle a disaster in the kitchen. It is mealtime, and the kitchen is chaotic, loud, and hot, making it difficult to remain positive. The Head Chef of "Sweet and Savory" had the same challenge, pressure, and service as any other day. The intense working team can be seen in the back and front of the house, playing tug-of-war. . . . "Sorry, we are closed." "aMm. Hi, Yeah, I know, but can I have some bread or something? I have an emergency in the hospital, and there are no shops open around here. "So I came." A girl spoke from behind Chef, catching his attention. Rahas Shrivastava. It is noon, and the girl who walks in is running to catch his breath. She must be a doctor, as she carried a white coat on her left arm. Her round face appeared exhausted; she was not attractive, but she had a charm of her own. He turned to face the girl, "A bread in lunch will not help; let me see if there is any food." Saying this, the man pulled the chair, indicating that she should sit. The pin-drop silence of the room, the faint smell of food, and the faint sound of cutlery being set relaxed the girl, and she leaned back to rest. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the unknown silence she craved. Away from the hustle and bustle, this silence promotes self-love. She could not recall feeling like this before. It was absolute bliss. "Eat slowly or you will choke." The girl with a full mouth looked at the owner, swallowing the food and smiling, "Yes, but I do not have time. I need to rush today. The weather is not very good." "Sorry?" The girl smiled at him, wiping her mouth with a tissue, and continued, "The weather is bad today; there is a good chance of getting emergency patients. So I have to rush. Bye" She turned, picked up her apron from the side chair, and stopped looking at the blood stain on the Chef's wrist."You did not bandage your wound properly." Rahas looked at his bandage."It may have fallen off after I washed my hands. "It is nothing serious." "Here." She smiled as she handed him the ointment. "Thanks for the food; it was delicious." She thanked the lifesaver who had prepared a delicious meal for her this late. If it is not him, she will have to skip lunch. Now that her hunger had subsided and she felt revived, she could once again face all odds.
