As I was terrified of being in this dire situation, I heard those incredible words that inspired me to keep going in my life. I looked at my patient's bruised face; the surgery was successful. He is now saved. However, his wound will take several months to heal. I looked at the time. It was morning, 7 a.m. I stopped by the cafeteria to get some food. I am hungry again. "Good morning, Mr. Shah. Are the cheese croissants still available?" I greeted the elderly man who always arrived first among his employees. He is the elder, but he has a younger heart. No one can beat him, even though he is old. Nobody, including Dr. Emanuel. He was a wrestler in his day and had numerous affairs during his prime. He still brags about it shamelessly and incredibly. "Oh, look who is here! The croissant, Highness. Yes, your Highness, we have the croissant you want, but due to the working hours, I, Dhawal Shah, refused to serve you." Mr. Shah smiled widely and continued to clean and arrange the plates. "You did not eat dinner yesterday and ended up starving all night. You are a doctor, girl; don't you know what you should have eaten at the right time?" We are at it again! Mr. Shah will not stop here; I should go to a nearby convenience store and get some food. As I turned to leave, I tripped and collided with a hard shoulder, losing my balance and falling. But before I could kiss the hard floor, I felt myself in the air. I opened my eyes and locked my gaze on a familiar face. He is Rahas Shrivastav. Rahas' strong arms held me securely and tightly. He appeared different to me. His hair falling on his brow, long bridge nose, and lip... "GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF, REET!" What the heck was I thinking? I blinked my eyes several times, shaking off my thoughts. It must be the result of a lack of sleep. I bravely lifted my eyes again to see him, but to my dismay, I noticed him bringing his brows together. Is he frowning at me? "Could you please get off me?" I noticed too late that I was still in his arms. Oh, that explains why. "Hey, you troublemaker, you are running away again, aren't you?" Mr Shah asked, placing his hand on his waist. “Mr. Shah, Do you think I am a kid? You yell at me all the time. Who said I was running away? I was just here. "You are thinking too much." "Are you just here? Okay, good excuse, Dr. Reet." Rahas placed the plate of healthy food he prepared as instructed by Mr. Shah. "What is he doing here? "How do you know him, Mr. Shah?" I asked the old man and sat down when he pulled out a chair for me. "He is my friend's son and my buddy. He visited the emergency room yesterday to donate blood. He is a chef. Mr. Shah gently patted the young man's shoulder and smiled warmly. "Do you both know each other?" He inquired as he noticed we were uninterested in the introduction. "Yes, Uncle, she came by my restaurant, and... we just met in an incident and had a conversation," Rahas said, looking at Reet, who was already glaring at him. Rahas gave her a tight smile and then walked away. "Hey, you brat, finish this meal; it is healthy and light. Eating cheesy food will upset your stomach, and it will not fill it either. So eat this while I am being good. Understood?" Is not Mr Shah dangerous? But he is nice. Reet smiled as she enjoyed the delicious meal that had satisfied her hunger. She patted her stomach, feeling full. "I should go for a stroll," her mind said, and she agreed. "It is yours." I looked at the hand in front of my face before looking up at the voice. "Why do you have my card?" I inquired, taking the Sunshine Hospital ID card. I thought I had misplaced it. "The first time you visited my restaurant, you left. I keep it with me, so my staff was unaware until you arrived to find it. I visited the hospital to return it to you. But they said you were not there. Please take it. It will off my burden." Reet looked at the green pocket purse with her ID card and thanked him; "Thank you, but the card is no use now because I no longer work there." The Sunshine Hospital does not accept doctors like her. They will not need her in the future. Why would she keep something that would only bring back memories of her worst nightmares? Thinking about all of this, she was about to throw the card away, but Rahas stopped her. "Don't throw it away. I have kept it for so long; if you throw it away now, all of my hard work will be for nothing." "Who cares? It is a burden that will take up space in my closet. It is best to get rid of it. I am a very organized person, you know." "I seriously doubt that," Rahas said under his breath. "What... what do you mean?" How will you know whether I am organized or not?" Rahas rolled his eyes and walked away, saying, "Do not keep it if you do not want it, but do not throw it away." Reet looked at him in the cafeteria before walking out to check on her patients without throwing her ID card. "A New Message." Her phone vibrated, grabbing her attention. "Sharad" "Good morning, Reet. I was wondering if you were free today; my friends have planned a trip. I was thinking that if you could join us, we would get to know each other better." "I am sorry, Sharad. I can't. There is an emergency. So I have to be in the hospital today. You enjoy. Thank you for asking (●'◡'●). Oh my goodness, this is not the first time I have declined an invitation. Why am I feeling so crappy? What an off-timing! Reet threw her hands and feet up in the air, acting like a child who could not do anything to help her situation. She huffed after pulling her hair, completely releasing her frustration, and returned to normal. She finger-combed her tangled hair and resumed her work.
