Chapter 27The door to the girl's bedroom was closed. Georgia placed the heavy laundry basket on the floor and reached up to knock on the door before turning the handle to open it. Her hand stopped mid-air. One of the girls was crying and the other was talking to her. Georgia froze and listened by the door. “Shelby, Mommy still loves us. She just can't remember the past stuff,” Kaela said. “But it's not the same.” “Sure it is. We're her daughters, she'll always love us. Here blow your nose.” Georgia heard Shelby blow. “She'll love you 'cause you're her blood daughter. All she's had of me is the past three years.
