Molly Sanchez stood up from the reception desk and stretched. She took her headset off. “It's quiet at the moment. I'm going to get some coffee. Want some?”
The young woman sitting beside her glanced up at her with fear in her eyes.
“It's okay, hon, you're doing great. If anyone comes in, ask them to be seated until I come back. If the phone rings and you don't know what to do, take a message or ask them to call back in five minutes.”
“Okay …” the girl said. “Cream and sugar, please.”
She watched Sally walk away. She hoped it would remain quiet until her trainer returned. This was her first shift and she felt a little overwhelmed. She tried to relax and almost did, until a call came through the switchbo
