I was awakened by a twinge of discomfort in my gut, and I sighed. It was different from the earlier ache in my back. A glance at the watch I’d brought with me and still wore showed it was a little after midnight. Dammit, I knew I shouldn’t have had that second can of pork and beans for dinner. What had I been thinking? Beans always disagreed with me. I sighed again. Well, it was only what I deserved. I rolled out of our bed, padding into the cavern we had set aside for cooking. Perhaps tea would help. Nanny used to make it for me when I had an upset stomach. I decided I’d do that. Hopefully the tea would ease my abdominal distress.
