"Hi honey want to go get shoes for your wedding dress?" Mom offers a day of shopping with me. Now I was stunned about this turn of events, Mom was proud I was marrying a royal man from the sea. She was supporting this wedding head on.

"Mom, not today. I am going with Charlotte. We are going to go job hunting" I lie. I was feeling really sick these past few weeks. Ginger ale was not helping me at all. I was missing my period for a good two weeks now. I was afraid I was going to be having Finn's baby!

"Oh, I see you are still mad at me huh?" she sighs.

"No Mom! That is not it at all! Listen, we can go tomorrow. I already had plans was all! Really!" I tell her.

"Well have fun. Here is twenty to have lunch with your friend" Mom tells me as she digs money out of her purse.

"Mom you don't have to" I say. The doorbell rang. Charlotte was there! I was saved by the bell. I rush on over to answer her, letting her in. "Thank heavens you are here"

"Why what is going on? Fighting with Mom again?" she worries.

"No! Come in my room a moment. Walls have ears around here" I mumble as I glance over at my mother.

"Hey Charlotte come help me pick out what shoes I should wear to the mall" I ask her in front of my mother.

"Sure! I would BE happy to" she laughs as we rush down the hall to my bedroom. "What is going on?" she wants to know.

"I might be having a baby" I announce. Her eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head about now.

"WHAT! You are having a bbb..." I cover her mouth with my hand.

"I might be! I need to get a test. Find out if I am" I mutter. She nods. "That is where you come in. You are going to help me" I demand to her. She nods. "Got it?" I ask her. She nods again. I remove my hand from her mouth.

"Are you ready to be a mommy?" she worries.

"I never actually thought about being a mother. But I love Finn. He would make a wonderful Dad" I say as I daydream about a boy who looks like my Finn.

"Would you have a regular baby though? I mean Finn was a merman after all" she worries.

"He is human now. No way would the baby be a merperson" I laugh.

"Come on think about it. He or she could be a merman or mermaid" she points out.

"Better not be. If that was the case the baby would have to live in the ocean away from their parents. That would be hard" I sigh.

"For your sake I hope not" she tells me.

"Me to. First of all let's find out if I am even having a baby before we worry about all that" I laugh. We head on out.

"Bye Mom! Bye Gram! Behave" I say before we head out the door. We head over to CVS to get a test. I nervously pay for my test and a big bottle of water. We head out to Charlotte's car. I begin to drink so much water I feel I might burst.

"Boy you are getting down to business" jokes Charlotte.

"I have to know. Today" I sigh.

"Well where do you want to go now?" she wonders.

"Do the diner. Let's have lunch. I am starving. I really want to see Finn right now" I sigh. I look down at my engagement ring. When everything was just going so right why were things starting to go oh so wrong? All Finn and I wanted was to be together. Nothing was going to stop us! We would be together.

"Something wrong Sydney?" she worries.

"I will be okay once I get my daily dose of Finn" I sigh. She takes me over to the diner. I could not let Finn or that Hilary skank who worked there at the diner see me walk in with a test in my hand. I shove the box with the test into my purse. I polish off the last of my water bottle. I was ready to go. I began to feel pressure begin to bubble in my bladder. I had a glass of milk back at the house before I left.

"Hurry, I have to go" I laugh as I hold it.

"Going as fast as I can" giggles Charlotte. We soon come to Finn's diner where he busses tables and does dishes. Just until he gets a better paying job. We rush on in as soon as we get there.

"May I help you? Oh it is you" Hilary remarks with a annoyed look on her face. She cracks her gum loudly as she hands us a menu.

"Can I see Finn?" I demand.

"He is busy working right now, like I am" she declares.

"Syd?" I hear him say. He was over at another table clearing dishes off.

"Hi!" I greet him. He walks over to my table. He pulls me in for a hug.

"What a nice surprise to see you two here" he gushes happily.

"I wanted to see you" I say smiling.

"I will come back later" Hilary mumbles as she walks away.

"Something wrong Sydney?" he worries.

"No" I lie.

"Don't you have to...."Charlotte mumbles. Finn looks at me curiously trying to read our expressions.

"I have to really go to the bathroom. Be right back" I say as I rush past Finn. I head in the bathroom. I rip open a test. I go in a stall. I pee on the stick as soon as I could, then I waited in the stall.

"Please no, not right now at least" I groan. "Maybe after the wedding"

I wait then it turns positive right before my very eyes! I was having Finn's baby!

"Oh lord!!" I gasp. My head began to spin. I felt dizzy. This was a lot to take in. I was having a baby! I clean up. Pull up my pants. Throw the test in my purse. I go and wash my hands. Then head on out.

"So?" Charlotte asks me curiously.

"Are you sure you are alright?" Finn worries over me. The room began to spin at warp speed. I felt clammy now. "Sydney!" he cries as I feel my body sway to the power of gravity. Heading fast to the floor. He catches me.

"What is going on?" he demands to know.

"Baby, I am having a...a..." I stammer.

"Having fries with that? What?" he laughs as he looks at me with worry.

"I am having a baby, baby" I mutter before everything goes black.
