I let go of his hand as a wave came toward us. I dove into it as it crashed down. When I came up, we were deep enough that my shoulders were under the water.
"I can't believe we're doing this," I said. My whole body was shaking. But I wasn't sure if it was because of the cold water or the thrill of what I was doing.
