Chapter 5 Who is She?

1333 Words
“Eric. Eric.” She called out to him twice to try to get him out of what seemed like a trance. He had been so fixated on supposedly what happened to be another member of the ‘twilight pack’. Who is she? Isabella wondered. They both had not noticed her earlier. She was so beautiful. And even though Isabella hated the thought of it, she had to admit that the image before her and Eric was more beautiful than herself. Her blonde hair and sea blue eyes with her small pointed nose and lips that seemed to be in a permanent pout gave her the resemblance of a goddess. She was also much younger than herself. Isabella realized with regret. She had not noticed them both staring at her. Was that Maria? The Luna they were expecting? Isabella wondered, hoping that Eric could stop staring at her and at least give her some attention. “Eric.” She called out to him again. This time removing her hand from his arm and turning his face to look at her. “Isabella, you finally got here,” he said casually, still showing little interest in her presence. “Yes. You left me alone out there. I could have been attacked by another pack.” “I’m sorry. I expected that you would eventually catch up somehow,” he said, turning back to look at the young lady and finding that she was no longer there. “Yes, you sure did.” She said, disbelieving him. It hurt her to see him so engrossed with another female. It had never happened before. She had always been his center of attraction and attention, even into their old age. “I’m sorry, Isabella,” he repeated. He could see that she was still obviously hurt. “That’s okay if you promise that it would never happen again.” “I promise,” he said quickly and with little or no commitment. “Let’s take a walk around. We need to get accustomed to our new pack.” “I’m sorry Isabella, I’ll prefer we…” “Isabella! Isabella!” Someone was calling out to her. Eric had not been able to complete his statement, but that could wait. Here she was an Omega and would never dream of keeping the Luna waiting. “The Luna demands your presence right away!” “The Luna? She’s already here?” “Run along Isabella. We could get back together later in the day.” “Yes Eric. I’ll do just that.” Isabella hated to get separated from Eric. Most especially after seeing a member of their new pack who was evidently more beautiful than herself. Eric had stood staring at her, obviously transfixed by her beauty. Who wouldn’t be? She herself could not stop staring at her for a while. For the first time, though Isabella hated to admit it, Eric’s love for her was going to be tested. As she walked off to attend to the Luna, she could not help but stop to turn around and watch Eric walk off so quickly. Why was he so eager to leave her presence? Was he hoping to come across that lovely damsel again? Isabella could not get the thought of Eric coming across the beautiful damsel again. She feared that without her being with him, he could spend the rest of the day just staring at her. “Oh Isabella! Let go of such thoughts. She is most likely the Luna of this pack. Nothing, absolutely nothing can possibly go on between the two of them. That would be too dangerous a thing for Eric to think of doing,” Isabella muttered under her breath as she walked on. The other Omega who led her suddenly stopped at a door and knocked. “Come in!” The sweetest voice Isabella had ever heard commanded from behind the closed door. The other omega stepped in cautiously. Isabella followed suit. She was not the Luna here, but she was familiar with what was expected of her. After all, she was a Luna in her own world. Her own real world. She thought as they took further steps to close the gap between them and the Luna. The Luna’s back was turned to them. She was seated on an exquisitely made chair. It was then Isabella noticed that the whole furnishing all spelt luxury. Her previous thoughts of Eric staring at that beautiful lady had prevented her from taking in all that was around her as she walked to meet the Luna. Isabella was not in a hurry to see her face. She had seen her outside a while ago and it had reminded her that there was a lady who was now more beautiful than her. Not just any lady. A Luna like herself. Isabella swallowed hard. The thought of it hurt her. Most especially as she saw the effect it had on Eric, her Alpha. “Don’t just stand there, you two. Help me out with my hair.” She said with her sweet voice. She spoke to them softly. She was obviously a good Luna. Isabella smiled as she began fixing her hair as best as she could. It was good to know that she was a good Luna as that would obviously prevent her from having anything to do with Eric. Especially as she was the Luna. “Mirabel!” The Luna called out looking into a small mirror. “I guess this one knows what she is doing. She’s so much better than the others that have come to help me out with my hair before I embarked on that journey.” So her name was Mirabel? Isabella thought. “Yes…, yes Luna Priscilla,” Mirabel stammered. And the Luna’s name is Priscilla. I must not forget their names. Most especially that of the Luna. She still had her back turned at them as she directed them to leave. A beautiful lady with a beautiful voice and a good character. Isabella thought as she walked out of the house. There was really nothing for her to worry about. She was not the type to cheat on her man most especially as he was the Alpha of the pack. Isabella scanned everywhere for Eric once she was outside. What was he up to now? Had he joined the other men in the preparation of the intended ceremony? What was the ceremony for, by the way? Isabella thought. Was it a welcome ceremony in honour of the Luna? The Luna had spoken like she had been away for quite a while. Just then, a shadow appeared on the ground from an image above. Isabella looked up quickly and saw the beautiful face on the balcony of the house. Their eyes met for a brief second as Isabella turned away quickly. Her beauty unnerved her and for a brief second she could not blame Eric for drooling at her previously. It was obviously the first time he was seeing a woman more beautiful than her, his Luna. This was obviously not the lady she and Mirabel had just helped to dress up for the very special occasion. “Mirabel! Come at once!” The very beautiful face commanded sharply. “Yes ma’am.” Mirabel said trembling and sprinted off. She was in a flimsy, silk, silver lingerie leaving little to everyone’s imagination and her blond hair was let down to run down her shoulders. Her skin shone as the setting sun illuminated her face and her voluptuous features. As she looked downwards, trying to take in everyone around her at once, she was obviously aware of the effect her beauty had on everyone around. Every part of her seemed to scream ‘touch me’. Who is she? Isabella thought with her heart racing. No lady had ever made her feel this insecure. Whoever she was, Isabella knew she needed her very far from Eric, her mate and Alpha.
