The Order of Lucius

Narrator POV

Miranda hurriedly escape the manor with the orb in her posession.

Miranda: I have to get out of here before more of those f*****g shadows show up.

When she got to the entrance, there were three people standing there. It was Jared, Julie and another guy named Hansel.

Miranda: You're not gonna try to stop me, are you?

Jared makes a fighting stance.

Jared: Where is Lucy?

Miranda straightens up and shakes her head with a mocking smile as she replied;

Miranda: She's inside...

They lock eyes.

Miranda: From the looks of it, she's probably dying. *grins*

Jared was about to attack her but he stopped midway when Miranda said;

Miranda: Are you sure you wanna get busy trying to stop me while she dies?

Jared looks back at Hansel.

Jared: I'm sorry Hansel, but this is an emergency and we need your powers.

Hansel: I can see that Jared. Well you better take good care of me after this.

Hansel and Julie catches up with him. Julie slightly raises her hands on both sides with palms open and summoned a some sort of sphere that serves as a shield for what was going to happen next. Hansel did a fighting stance, Moved his hands in a circular motion in front him with palms open then a huge glowing clock pattern appeared in front of them. Miranda was carefully observing.

Miranda: These nuisance! What are you planning now?

She secretly uses her powers to fortify her last line of defense then did a fighting stance.

Miranda: Come on! Let's roll!

Jared's left eye glows as he peeked into Miranda's memories. He saw the events that took place and kept going further. He seemed to be calculating the hours and minutes. When he reached the part of her memory where she was in the middle of fighting those shadow figures, his eyes stopped glowing.

Jared: Hansel, it's about 2 hours back in time.

Hansel: That's f*****g two weeks off of my consciousness!

Julie: Well just enough to save that stupid girl inside now stop complaining and just do it!

Jared: Don't worry bro, I'll buy you your favorite pizza for a whole week when you wake up.

Hansel: Make it two, and you better do!

Miranda panicked when she realized what they were planning.

Miranda: No!!!

She ran with all her might towards them to stop them but the glowing clock pattern intensifies. Before Miranda could reach them, Julie said;

Julie: You're too late, b***h!

Then a blinding flash embraced all of the surroundings and time started to reverse. It affected all of them but the shield that Julie summoned protected their memories and kept them aware of what was going on and what had took place. The orb in Miranda's hand broke into pieces and seemed to scatter as it flies to the sky. Hansel's spell brought everyone back to where they were 2 hours before the encounter.

Lucy's POV

I found myself sitting by the fountain. It's 4pm and I've been waiting out here for about an hour.

Lucy: What was that just now? Was I dreaming?

I seemed to have a vision of me being inside, stabbed and losing my life. Are these real memories? I am so confused. I went to the side of the manor where I saw myself going. I found the wall with the strange writings in it.

Lucy: That's so creepy. It's exactly what I saw in my visions. What the freak is going on here?

I touched it and it glowed as it made way for an opening.

Lucy: This is so weird.

I entered just like how I remembered it. I came across another door.

Lucy: I... I was stabbed in there... Or...

I shook my head.

Lucy: I can't remember who stabbed me.

Then I thought it was absurd. I can only think of this as Deja Vu. I opened the door and went it.

Lucy: What the...

This is exactly what I saw in my visions or daydream or whatever. I saw the statue in the middle of the room so I came up to it and felt like something was missing. The statue seemed to be holding something but there wasn't anything in its hands.

Lucy: I feel like there's supposed to be an orb here.

I looked around and saw another door on the other side of the room.

Lucy: Who ever stabbed me came from that door.

I walked slowly towards it and leaned in. I heard a familiar voice.

Lucy: Miranda?

I whispered to myself.

Narrator POV

The shadow roars as it launches for another attack. Miranda swiftly manoeuvre to the side and dodged it.

Miranda: Just how many of you are there in these f*****g doors?! Those stupid members of the order deliberately turned back time in this particular situation I'm in!

Miranda remembers everything because of the defensive ward she has on her, which apparently was destroyed after Hansel's spell run it's course. She holds her hands towards the shadow and releases an electric dark matter that swirled to the monstrous thing and annihilated it. She was panting and getting exhausted.

Miranda: *pants* Why do they seem stronger this time?

Vladimir: Because I am here.

She was shocked to see Vladimir approaching from the entrance to the corridor with the women following behind him. They're all staring blankly and looked docile.

Miranda: I see what's happening here. These shadows I've been fighting and these women you brought here, are connected to each other.

Vladimir claps his hands and grins ear to ear.

Vladimir: Very well deduced. We take these women's life essence and turn them into guard dogs to protect the manor from people like you, children of Selesia and others who seek to steal Lord Verdimon's treasures and relics.

Miranda stood up and dusted herself off.

Miranda: Why didn't you try to stop me from the very beginning then?

Vladimir: I didn't want to scare these poor women away. If I tried to stop you earlier it would've been bloody.

Miranda: I am not here for Verdimon's relics. I'm just here for Rusthella's orb, which Verdimon stole from her centuries ago.

Vladimir: I don't know what you're talking about.

Miranda: Playing dumb are we?

Vladimir: What you heard was all a lie.

Miranda: I don't think so. It was already in my hands.

Vladimir: Oh.

He let's out an evil laugh.

Vladimir: So I am guessing that was the reason I felt The Order of Lucius used their time reverse. It was to stop you?

Miranda: They weren't trying to stop me. They were trying to save Lucy from dying because of me.

He raises a brow and puts his knuckle below his chin.

Vladimir: Trying to save Lucy huh? Interesting.

Miranda: Enough talk! Are you gonna fight me or what? Because I've been aching to break your neck.

Vladimir stretches and cracks his knuckles.

Vladimir: Your pretty face will be a great addition to my collection of heads.

Julie: Hansel is unconscious. It's up to the both of us to save that loser now. Why does it have to be us? Ugh!

The three members of the Order of Lucius were sent back to Wilden hotel where they were, two hours before the encounter with Miranda.

Jared: We're the only ones Rowena trusts so don't complain. Now let's hurry up! Hansel's no longer here to save our asses this time.

Rowena is the current leader of the Order of Lucius. She's a direct blood descendant of the great Lucius Durandahl, unlike the rest of the order who weren't blood related but inherited some of his powers. Julie caresses Hansel's cheek.

Julie: We'll be back Hansel.

She kissed his forehead before following Jared outside and leaving him inside the hotel room.

Lucy's POV

I was so shocked hearing Miranda and Vladimir's conversation. So all of that did happen? It wasn't a vision or Deja Vu. I was about to die! And who was the Order of Lucius? I suddenly remember what Julie said to me back in the hotel this morning. "If I wasn't told to look after you, I would've slapped that mouth of yours".

Lucy: Are they the members of the order Miranda and Vladimir was talking about?

I am so scared right now. I don't know what to do. I looked around and try to find a place to hide. I don't wanna die here and be caught in the middle of a fight that I had nothing do with. I ran towards the desk and hid under it, hoping that nobody finds me there.

Narrator POV

Miranda and Vladimir is in the middle of a fierce fight.

Miranda: You're a nimble one.

Vladimir: You're not bad yourself.

Miranda: I am stronger than you!

Vladimir: We'll see.

They continued exchanging blows and firing powerful energies against each other when Vladimir suddenly disappeared.

Miranda: Don't hide from me!

He reappeares infront of her and grabs her neck with one hand and pushes her against the wall.

Vladimir: I was merely playing with you.

Miranda struggles for air.

Vladimir: But I am already getting bored from all of this.

He lifts her up and chokes her further.

She clings on his wrist trying to remove his hand but the effort is futile.

Vladimir: I'm going to separate that pretty head of yours from your body and place it inside a special glass display.

Miranda's still trying to figure out how to escape.

Vladimir: Goodnight sweety.

He leans in to kiss Miranda on the lips while his grip on her neck became tighter and tighter. She placed her hand on Vladimir's head and summoned all of her force and energy to it.

Miranda: Y-you... F-fucking... P-p*****t!!!

She released that energy and blows up Vladimir's head! Blood splatters all around and his body drops on the floor freeing Miranda from his grip.

Miranda: *coughs* That's what you get, you maniac! *panting*

She took a short rest then proceed to the room where Lucy is hiding.

The door opens and Miranda enters the room. Lucy tried her best not to make any noise. She knows that by this time she was still supposed to be outside. Miranda hurried towards the statue but saw that the hands were empty.

Miranda: What??? Where is it?

Feeling uncomfortable with her position, Lucy shifted her body only to bump the top of her head on the desk that created a thud. Miranda heard it and knew that someone is hiding underneath.

Miranda: Is that you Lucy?

Miranda was oblivious of the fact that Lucy has been in the room long enough to hear her conversation with Vladimir. All she knows is that Lucy's memories were also affected by the time reverse.

Miranda: Lucy if that's you, please come out! We have to get out of here quickly! It's dangerous, Vladimir is dangerous.

Lucy was reluctant but she figured it was inevitable that Miranda would find her so she just went out of hiding and showed herself. Miranda ran towards her and pulled her in a tight embrace. Lucy stiffened and was confused.

Miranda: I was so worried about you!

Lucy was thinking "you're a bad liar! You know I didn't get inside because I lost my ticket!" But she just played along in case Miranda would spare her life.

Lucy: I am so scared Miranda. Let's get out of here!

Miranda: Yeah but first...

She pulled out from that embrace.

Miranda: I need the orb.

Lucy thinks "f**k! The orb, that was what she was after! That thing was the one that got me stabbed in the first place!".

Miranda: Lucy!

She yanked her.

Miranda: Where is the orb? Give it to me!

Lucy: I don't know Miranda!

Miranda looked disappointed. She stepped back and shakes her head.

Miranda: I wanted to spare your life and do this the easy way but you're making things difficult for me.

Lucy shakes in terror.

Lucy: B-but I really don't know!

Miranda: You're making me angry Lucy. Where is the orb!!!

Lucy: Miranda I swear I don't know! When I got here it wasn't there at all like it should've been the first time!

Miranda: So you actually remember what happened?

Lucy: *thinks* This is bad.

Miranda slaps Lucy left and right, kicks her in the gut and fires an energy blast pushing her back to the bookshelves. Lucy falls to the ground coughing. Miranda walks towards her and asks her again.

Miranda: For the last time Lucy, where is the orb? I am not going to kill you so long as you give it to me.

Lucy: *Thinks* I need to come up with something!!!

Instinctively, Lucy thought of producing something in her hand and it materialized and became an orb that looks just like the one from the statue. With shaking hands, she offers it to Miranda.

Miranda: That wasn't so hard, was it?! I didn't have to hurt you if you'd just given it to me earlier.

She turns her back on Lucy and walks away. A voice suddenly spoke to Lucy in her head.

Voice: Lucy... Think of a powerful explosion. Feel it from within you, and release it through the orb.

Lucy did as she was told. Before Miranda could get away, the orb exploded and she propelled to the air and drops to the ground. She was badly injured!

Lucy: *thinks* Serves you right.

Miranda helped herself up and she was furious! With clenched jaw she approaches Lucy.

Miranda: You little...!

She summons another energy blast and fires it at Lucy knocking her unconscious.

Miranda: I am gonna kill you!

Someone suddenly yells at her.

Jared: Not on my watch!

Jared aims a fireball building up from his hand and fires at Miranda. She acted quickly, narrowly deflecting it. But Julie followed up with an electric whip lashing towards her and hitting her in the face. Blood came out of her wound. Miranda touches her face and saw the blood in her hand. She stare daggers at Julie and cursed at her.

Miranda: f**k you!

Julie: There's more where that came from. *grins*

Jared: Get away from Lucy!

Jared's still aiming his hand at Miranda, ready to throw another fireball.

Seeing that she's cornered, outnumbered and injured, she surrendered and said;

Miranda: This isn't over. I'll get you for this!

Then she escaped through the secret door where I came in.
