CHAPTER FIVE: THE ENCOUNTER!

On the day that the studies resumed, Sheilla attended the lecture as early as a bird that wants to catch a worm. She was so eager to start learning. She had heard a lot about how the university lecturers carry out their lecturers. She had heard from hear sayers that the lecturers didn't give a damn about what the students did while in the lecture hall. She wanted to occupy a seat from the front row. She didn't want to miss out on anything. It was her first time attending such a session,so her nervousness could be understood.

She was carrying her backpack that had her academic essentials. The essentials included a brand new DELL laptop that had a ram of thirty two gigabytes and an internal storage space of two hundred and fifty six gigabytes, a paperclip,a set of pencils e.t.c. Her parents had really done a lot in ensuring her smooth integration in the university environment. For this, Sheilla was eternally thankful to them. It's always said that having good parents is worth a thousand gold coins. These guys always seem to find the necessary tools needed by their kids no matter the effort required. So, she didn't have the effontry to let her parents down. She was such a good filiale daughter that's hard to come by.

After more that ten minutes of walking from the canteen to the lecture hall, Sheilla was finally near it. When she was just about to enter in a hurry, she bumped into a sturdy figure of a stranger and the recoil force threw her towards the ground in an awkward backwards direct. A strong arm held her just in time before her body hit the ground. She subconsciously held onto the waist of the person who had rescued her. It so happened that the man who was helping her was also holding her waist and was in a slanted position. Their mouths almost made contact. The man and the woman stayed in this state for the time that it takes one to brew coffee before realizing the situation.

"Thanks but for how long are you going to hold me like that,sir?" Sheilla was both flustered and embarrassed but she still had to show her bravery and remind her benefactor that he was holding her in an inappropriate way. The man felt a little bit embarrassed but since he was an old hand in dealing with ladies, he quickly regained his composure and helped her up before excusing himself."About that, I'm sorry Miss. I didn't mean to bump into you. I hope you wouldn't stoop to my level of mediocrity and deal with me,will you?" The man said in a clear sincere tone. Accompanied by his good looks and well proportioned body, no woman would dare hold him responsible. Sheilla was the same, naturally. "Uhm!My name is Sheilla Disi. You can call me Sheilla,not Miss,ok?" Sheilla said to the stranger as she held her hand out for a handshake."Oh! So it's Sheilla? What a nice name! Here,this little chimpanzee is called Hussein Ali,nice to meet you. Where were you off to?" Hussein shook her small hand in a gentlemanly way as he reported his name while adding a little joke in between. Sheilla calm facial expression from for a split second before a brilliant smile blossomed on her face! "Nice to meet you too, Hussein. I was heading to the lecture hall of aeronautic engineering.What about you?" Sheilla herself didn't believe in herself anymore. She could put her finger around what was happening with her attitude today. It has to be told that she was a standard coward who couldn't even talk properly but today.....

" So, you are also majoring in a piloting course? " Hussein asked without answering her question. "What do you mean by 'also'?" Sheilla was a little bit surprised to hear that this handsome guy was also doing the same course as her! But she still had to confirm. "I mean,I'm also doing the same course but I'm a third year students. I can see that it's time for you to attend class. Why don't exchange contact info do that I can buy you coffee later as a show of apology for ruining your day?" Hussein asked as he looked directly into Sheilla's eyes as though he wanted to read her mental reaction in advance. Sheilla had to avert her eyes for she wasn't used to talking to boy's in such close proximity. Her fingers were tightly clenched as though she was having a tough psychological battle. " Sure but there's no need for you to buy me coffee. You didn't do anything wrong. Actually, I'm the one in the wrong for I was walking without paying attention to where I was going.My cellphone number is 07********81. You can chat me up at any time but class hours." Sheilla! Sheilla, what's wrong with you today?!.

After exchanging the contact info, Sheilla scurried to the lecture hall like a scared rat that had seen a cat. Her heart was thumping so hard. If she wasted a second longer,she was pretty sure she couldn't hold on any longer.

Even though she had prepared herself to pay maximum attention while listening to the lecture, Sheilla was still distracted as she thought the events that happened after the 'accident' . Apart from her father,she had never been touched by a man,leave alone to such an extend that his masculine hormonal scent was still lingering in her sensory receptors. The lecturer droned on and on till the end of the lesson but Sheilla didn't get extricated from her transfixion ! It wasn't until Laura came to remind her about their arrangements to have midmorning snacks together that she came out off her rivarie.

When Laura saw her in such a state with a little blush plastered on her hot cheeks,she had an inkling of what had happened. "Fallen for someone,have you? Hahaha!" Laura asked her with a knowing look. "F*ck you! I haven't done that! Let's how I'll deal with you, you smelly friend!" Sheilla was momentarily shocked but quickly regained her composure before refuting Laura's words. But it was obvious from her embarrassed state that she had been seen through. The two girls giggled as they chased after each other. They ran all the way to the canteen. Sheilla stopped to catch her breath before giving chase again! When she caught up with Laura, she scratched her waist playfully as a form of punishment. Laura laughed out loud due to the ticklish sensation. "Alright! Alright!I wouldn't tease you anymore,I swear. okay?" Laura had to act coquettishly for her to be let free. "Hmph! Stinky Laura,let's see if you'll try that move of your's again. In that case,the midmorning is on you. I won't pay a dime!" Sheilla said in an unruly nature. Just like a female hooligan. She herself didn't even know why she was behaving out of hand today. It just so happened. "Okay, Okay! I'll buy the food on my bill. You happy now?"Laura said happily as she sprung towards the food counter and did the necessary.

The two girls are their meal slowly because they both didn't have any lessons between that time and noontime. Laura ate while looking at Sheilla as she waited for her to spill the beans concerning the matter of her being in a daze in the morning,but Sheilla,who clearly knew of her intentions,kept her in suspense. "Laura finally couldn't take it anymore and directly spurted,"Are you going to tell me or not?" Sheilla snappily replied,"What has it got to do with you? Ok,ok! I'll tell you but not here. Wait till we go to the dormitory." Laura was dissatisfied and gruntled but still had to agree with her. She couldn't force issues.
