“You hear me, right, I wanted to become Jacob’s Luna, so I wanted you to help me,” Cindy calmly remarked as she clasped her hands.
When Cindy showed her sly smile, my forehead furrowed even more, “As I remember, your mate is the beta of the pack. So how can you be Jacob’s Luna?” I asked with indifference. It seems Cindy is not thinking correctly at the moment.
“I will reject him later, so don’t worry about him,” Cindy confidently answered and gave me an assurance that further blew my mind.
“I think you should reconsider doing that since there is no certainty that Jacob will accept you,” I asserted while seriously looking at Cindy.
“Ha Ha Ha, of course Jacob will accept me. Who else can be his Luna? Only me! I’m the only one who deserves that position,” Cindy confidently said while pointing her hand at herself.
Thankfully, Cindy’s two friends came because God knows I have nothing more to say.
“So regarding my question? What are Jacob’s preferences for a woman?” Cindy did not stop in her madness, even though her two friends were already there.
I sighed secretly before answering, “I’m sorry, but I can’t give you anything about Jacob since he just arrived yesterday. And as you all know, we are not real siblings, so we are not close,” I uttered and drank.
Cindy frowned at me and became hostile, “Scarlett, don’t fool me! We know Jacob has been protecting you even when he’s away!” The vein in Cindy’s neck popped out because of anger as her fists clenched.
The shock deepened on my forehead as I composed myself. “Cindy, I think I should go.” I did not wait for Cindy to answer. I made my moves to leave, but it seemed Cindy didn’t like what I did.
“Dont be rude! I haven’t let you leave yet! We’re just wondering, why don’t you want to share the things alpha likes? Perhaps you are fantasizing about him as well! “Cindy remarked as she gripped my arm tightly.
I looked around and blushed to see that everyone in the snack room had heard what Cindy said. “Stop your nonsense. Jacob is my brother, so don’t make an absurd story! If you want him for yourself, then go get him! But I am certain that Jacob will never lay eyes on you.” I yelled and shook Cindy’s hand, which was already holding my arm.
It seems that’s the limit of Cindy’s restraint. Her fist quickly clenched and hit my lip. Everyone in the snack room was shocked, but no one intervened.
“Scarlett Snow, do you think you can insult me like that?! You’re a nobody in this place, in fact, you're not even a member of the pack!” Cindy screamed as she walked closer to me. Cindy is one of the strongest female members of the Emerald pack, so every girl in town is afraid of her, including me.
I wiped the blood from my lips. “I’m not insulting you! I’m trying to say that you’re nothing compared to Marga!” I declared and gave Cindy a mocking look.
Since I can’t keep up with her strength, I’ll just repay her with emotion. Nothing hurts more when you know that someone is superior to you.
Cindy quickly came over and pulled my hair, “Marga, who? Dont lie because we know Jacob doesn’t have a mate!” she muttered as one hand squeezed my chin.
“The heirs of the Phantom pack!” I scream when I feel my hair being pulled out. Now I feel more annoyed because my mother didn’t teach me how to fight or even a little self-defense. I can’t afford to shift into my wolf just to defend myself in a petty fight.
“Phantom Pack my ass! I don’t believe you, you b***h!” Cindy’s frustration poured out on me. He mercilessly pins me to the table. My face was scratching on the board, but I couldn’t lift it because of the force of Cindy’s hand.
“Let me go!” I pleaded, then looked at people in the area, waiting for them to stop Cindy’s madness. But everyone remains in their seat. And Cindy’s two friends were just sitting while smirking at me.
“Cindy, you should be careful with her face. Remember, the council will marry her to the alpha of another pack,” that was just a reminder made by one of Cindy’s friends before complacently drinking her cocktail.
“Hmm, you’re right, if not for her beauty, no one would be interested in her! You are worthless!” Cindy added, humiliating me as she raised my face and pushed me hard.
I tried to cling to something so as not to fall to the floor, but I touched nothing. So I just closed my eyes and waited for the pain caused by my fall. But that didn’t happen either, because I felt the hand wrap around my waist as my back hit a hard object, but it didn’t cause any pain. Instead, it generated strange electricity in my body.
“Seems my little Scarlett wants some fun.”
I didn’t open my eyes as Jacob’s whisper cost me almost a heart attack. I only open my eyes when I feel he was helping me stand up properly.
“Thank you,” I said while blushing with embarrassment, so I averted my face, but Jacob touched my chin and lifted my face. His face darkened when seeing the scratches on my face.
“Alpha, let me explain. Scarlett started all of this. I’m trying my best not to beat her, but she is too much, spreading lies against you!” Cindy quickly explained.
My eyes widened at Cindy’s lie, but Jacob pulled me on his back and turned his deadly gaze on everyone in the room.
“And what lies Scarlett spreading for you to hurt her while everyone here is watching your show?” Jacob’s voice is low and brings a chill to everyone in the room.
“Alpha, she wanted you for herself! Scarlett is making up a story about a girl who is even better than me!” Cindy added and gave Jacob a cheesy look.
“Really? She wanted me from herself? And who are you, by the way?” Jacob asked. His voice changes drastically, and Cindy thinks it’s because of him.
“I’m Cindy Havier, the only daughter of Council Head, Morgan Havier,” Cindy confidently introduced herself.
“You mean the previous head of Council of the Emerald City ...” Jacob glared at Cindy.
