“The Alpha of the Blue Moon pack wanted you to be his Luna and not only him, the other alpha of the other pack has already expressed a desire to get you,” one of the councilors answered my question when Jacob remained silent.
“Aunt Ana, please take Scarlett outside. I’ll proceed with the meeting with the pack,” Jacob glared at the council, and didn’t hide his anger at all.
“Wait! I’m not—” I didn’t dare to finish my sentence when Jacob turned to me. His eyes instantly caused me to panic.
This is the first time I have felt Jacob’s superiority.
His eyes conveyed a coldness to my whole body, so I mellowed out and heeded his command.
My mother guided me out, but I glanced at Jacob before closing the door, and there I saw his eyes glow red as he punched the table in front of him.
“Mom, is that okay? What is wrong with Jacob? Did he think that the iron fist was effective for his pack to follow him?” I asked in concern.
“Ha Ha Ha, your brother doesn’t need to use his fist to bind his pack. His anger is with the councils,” my mother explained. She sat me down at the dining table and prepared a snack.
“But mom! I’m sulking right now! Your relationship with Jacob is better than mine!” I affirmed, remembering the secret between the two.
My mother couldn’t help but laugh at my declaration. However, she still got serious and sat down next to me while handing me the drinks, “I will be honest with you. Since you’ve got your wolf, the other pack keeps sending a message asking for you to be their Luna...”
I burst out laughing at the thought that my mother was joking. I couldn’t believe what she was saying because I don’t go out very often and I don’t talk casually to anyone. “Mom, stop messing around ...” I muttered and drank.
“Scarlett, I don’t want you to be a member of the Emerald pack until Jacob arrives because of this. The council wanted to merge with a powerful pack and to attain that, they decided to use you,” my mother added without blinking. Her voice was lower than her usual speech, so I couldn’t joke anymore.
“Mom, why didn’t you tell me? Shouldn’t I know about it because I’m the one involved?” I couldn’t help but take offense. Although I am weak, that does not mean I can no longer afford to decide for myself.
My mother looks at me, feeling sorry, “Scarlett, the council wanted to take away everything from you. And I don’t want to ruin your life because of the pack’s selfish desire!”
I stared at my mother’s hand, which was tightly gripping mine. “Mom, if marrying an alpha can help you and the pack be more robust, I am willing. Since I was a child, I have felt worthless ... I can’t help you with anything, and I’m only giving you problems,” I muttered.
My mother’s eyes widened, and she urgently let go of my hand and gripped my shoulder. “Scarlett, this is not a game! What if your mate came after you married the alpha of another pack? or vice versa?” my mother explained, as if I didn’t know what I was saying.
I gasped while removing my mother’s hand on my shoulder. “Mom, I’m not a kid anymore. I’m turning nineteen in a few months now, so let me decide for myself,” I uttered and gave my mother a confident look—this time, I want to help. This time, I want to prove that I am capable.
“Scarlett, this is not for you to decide. Since Jacob is here, he will decide what is best for you and the pack.”
My mother is right. Since Jacob is here, all decisions will come from him.

Since my mother needed to work on urgent matters, she had to leave me, so I toured the whole manor while waiting.
“So, the famous princess of the Hale family has finally come,” said a voice coming from behind me.
“Excuse me, but what do you want?” I didn’t want to stand up, but when I saw the frown on the faces of the three women behind me, I couldn’t stop my hostility from going up.
“Scarlett Snow, you exalt yourself! You are talking to the future Luna of the Emerald pack!” the girl behind the woman replied while glaring at me.
The girl she was referring to is the next Luna, who is none other than Cindy Xavier, the daughter of the head councilor of the Emerald pack. I know this group because we are classmates, and they are also the group that makes me suffer from time to time. They bully me, but I never fight back, not because I am weak, but because I don’t want my mother to have problems with the council.
“Really? So you’re going to be my sister-in-law ...” I couldn’t help but sneer.
Cindy didn’t seem to be comfortable with what I said; instead, she was satisfied with the word ‘sister-in-law’ even though it was sarcastic. “Girls, why don’t we invite Scarlett to join us while we wait for the meeting to end?” she suggested and gave me a broad smile.
Cindy’s two friends immediately changed the way they treated me. “ Yeah, perhaps she can give you information about Jacob,” the girl uttered and gave me a friendly smile.
Since I was also waiting and bored, I didn’t hesitate and joined Cindy’s group. I also wanted to know how to be a member of a pack.
Cindy’s group took me to the garden in the back, where there was a small lounge. There is also a snack bar in the area where they serve different kinds of drinks and snacks.
Cindy sat at the center table as soon as we entered, while the two ordered for us. “Scarlett, let them go. Seat here. I want to ask you about Jacob Hale,”
I clenched my fist as I sat up. “What do you want to know?”
