Attraction

"I'll drive," Jacob remarked and got the key in my hand. I immediately pulled my finger away because of the electricity that instantly crept into my core. What was that? I never imagined that the attraction between mates was so strong! For heaven's sake! What will happen to me if he locks me in his arms? "Hey, Snow? Are you still scared of the earlier event?" "Huh? Ahh- now, I'm okay," I answered Marga's question and tried to smile as I avoided looking at Jacob. "By the way, Jacob never tells me that he has a sister and not an ordinary sister ... a stunning one," Marga remarks while admiringly looking at me. "I told you she is not my sister! As you heard her name, she is Snow Scarlett, and I'm Jacob Hale!" Marga ignored Jacob's grampy nature. Instead, she wrapped her hand around my arm and walked to the car. Marga and I rode in the back of the car, so Jacob seemed to be our driver. "Looks like a lot has changed in Emerald City," Jacob commented as our car entered town proper. "I'm not sure since, for me, nothing has changed," I answered while looking out the window. "Snow, your already eighteen, right?" Marga asked, and as soon as I nodded, she continued, "Then you have already found your mate!" she stated excitedly. "Huh? Well, the thing is- I didn't see my mate when I turned sixteen," I couldn't help but look at Jacob, who was staring at me in the mirror. "Really? Then maybe you've had a boyfriend? That's the trend now since some of us rejected our mates as I did," Marga utters and laughs. My eyes widened as I looked at Marga, "You rejected your mate? But why?" My curiosity came alive because I had never encountered someone rejecting their mate. I'm not friendly either, so I don't really talk to anyone. "Are you serious? Our generation no longer follows mate bonds! And my feeling towards Jacob is stronger than the bond with my mate!" Marga declared and looked at Jacob with so much love in her eyes. My curiosity died instantly as my smile quickly faded, "You mean you and Jacob are-" "Yes!" Marga responded quickly. "Stop with your lie, Marga!" Jacob remarked, which caused Marga to frown. "Well, I'm not lying! I told you I'm in love with you and will do anything to get you!" Marga affirmed with so much conviction. I stared at Jacob, his eyes focused on the road, but I could feel his attention on me. The jealousy I felt for Marga earlier- I don't feel now because Jacob explicitly rejected her in front of me. Marga was excited about getting off when Jacob stopped the car at the entrance of our house. "Next time, don't go out wearing an outfit like that," I stopped opening the door when I heard Jacob say that. "What's wrong with my dress?" I asked with a frown. My outfit is not too revealing, but you also can't say conservative. I'm accustomed to wearing a classy dress. "If you don't want to repeat what happened earlier, then obey me. And if you don't follow me and I see you wearing this dress, I will take it off myself," Jacob, utter that shocked me even more. "You-" I hadn't finished what I was about to say when Jacob got out of the car. ~~~~~~ "Brother!" Kurt screamed as soon as he saw Jacob entering the living room. "Wow, easy! you are too big to come up to me!" Jacob's comment laughed as Kurt acted. "Brother, I'm only seven, but I grow fast. Perhaps our gene is too amazing, not like Sister Snow!" Kurt whispers, but it doesn't escape my hearing. "You little nerd! My height is perfect for a woman!" I answered and quickly pinched Kurt. "Looks like you have a happy family," Marga commented while watching me and Kurt cuddling. "This sight is also new to me." I immediately stopped and turned around when I saw that Jacob's eyes were fixed on me. Is he stupid? Doesn't he see that Marga is already wondering about his actions? I couldn't avoid being stressed because of the situation I didn't want to get into. "Where is mom?" I asked Kurt. "In the kitchen preparing food," Kurt answered and turned to Jacob, "Brother, are you married?" Fortunately, I was the first to walk, so Jacob and Marga didn't see the change in my face. "Are you too young to ask me a question like that?" Jacob responded. "Hmm, well, I've been sending you a Scarlett Snow picture because I want you to be her mate, but it looks like I failed," Kurt murmured. "Hey, kid! Why do you want Jacob to be Snow's mate? They are siblings, right?" Marga exclaimed, apparently not liking Kurt's declaration. "Hmm, they are not siblings. The reason Snow didn't change her last name was that my father wanted her to be Jacob's mate," Kurt declared. "It looks like my younger son did not waste time," I looked at my mother coming out of the kitchen. And in her smile, she obviously heard everything Kurt said. "Marga! Welcome to our house. Please don't pay attention to my kids. They just want to tease each other, especially Kurt," my mother said, laughing. "Ana Hale, it's my pleasure to meet the best luna on the entire continent," Marga affirmed. "Hmm, I can't deny your compliment since it's true," my mother joked as she hugged Marga before turning to Jacob, "Finally, your back ... I can rest, now that Alpha is here," "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you still have to wait for one year since I'm not yet the right age to be Alpha," Jacob chuckles as he hugs my mother. "Hmm, I won't rush you, but you need to find your mate before you can rule Emerald," my mother reminded. "Hmm, I'll work on that," Jacob stated while staring at me. "Mom, maybe you should take them to their room to rest before eating," I suggested to interrupt their conversation about the mate. "Snow, I'm not done in the kitchen, so go and escort them to their room," "Kurt, go with your brother-" "Mom, I want to taste your recipe," Kurt immediately pulled our mother back to the kitchen. "So, where is our room?" Marga asked, smiling broadly.
