Today she awoke in a plush, down-filled mattress that snuggled up to her hips and legs, and yet her back was not stiff or painful. She felt like a child in the wee hours of the morning, snuggling down into the warmth of a large bed and hoping perhaps there will be more time to sleep. With as little energy exerted as possible, Nelia focused on the heaviness of her body against the mattress, the way each bone lay in the warm bed, the coziness that enveloped every fiber of her being.
