CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Silence floated around us as we held hands without a word being exchanged between us. Only the occasional sound of birds chirping in the nearby trees and the gentle sound of waterfall descending could be heard. Mrs. Carter had been understanding enough to let me have today off and so for God knows how long, Lucian and I had been at our spot, barely saying a word. There was just something about nature that had a way of calming even the most restless of souls.
“Tell me something,” He broke the silence in a whisper.
“About what?” I quirked an eyebrow. I was admittedly the worst person when it came to comforting people in pain, especially considering I was dealing with my own of releasing demons into our world.
