Chapter Thirty-Eight

Right after he said those ridiculous words, I immediately kicked him out of our home without letting him say anything else. I ignored him calling my name until he gave up and I saw through the window how he got in his car and left.
"He wants me and Sophia back in his life? Hah! Is he kidding me? Who's he trying to fool?"
Mom stepped out of her hiding place while I was arranging the gifts Josiah left behind. I contemplated whether I would throw them out, but decided against it, knowing Sophia will probably look for them the next day.
I now regret my decision of not telling my daughter the truth. That her father didn't want her and chose a woman over us, then she'd probably hate him. As I see it, she quickly accepted him into her life.
I admit, it scared
