Chapter Forty-One
SLOANE
Carrying some documents that Vincent has to sign, I went to his office, greeted his secretary and she let me in. I knocked on his door first and waited for him to respond, which he did in a weak voice.
When I came in, I saw Vincent Murphy with a distressed look on his face. He and I might have encountered each other a few times and I could tell the man is interested in me, but we are not close enough for me to act so friendly with him.
"Good morning, Mr. Murphy, I came here for some documents that need your signature." I said in a casual tone between boss and employee.
He was staring at something on his phone and it seems like he didn't hear anything I said.
"If you are busy, I can come back another time. I can leave these documents for you to go over."
