ASHER'S POV
"Listen up, or prepare to be banished!" Everyone in the room went silent, all eyes on me.
"Someone, it might even be one of you. Has made a direct hit against the alpha queen and, I'm here today to tell you all when I found out who it was and, believe I will find out! I will make sure whoever did will never make it to the next moon! Our pack is the first pack to ever exist, the first pack to have survived a s*******r that should of ended us all. I will not sit back and watch as one of our own is slaughtered or killed!" Gasps filled the room.
"The full moon is approaching fast and, those who wish to be changed." I cleared my throat silencing the whispers around the room.
"Will be denied, until this person is caught and punished!" I could hear each of them, spitting hate left right and centre.
"She's not even our queen! She left the pack!" One spat out.
"And anyone willing to question mine or the queen's decisions, feel free to relquish the right to be apart of the pack, or shut the f**k up! Anyone who knows what has happened, or who did so will be punished as much as those who have done the harm!" I couldn't stop myself, every part of me wanted, no needed! To defend her name! To defend her!
"Our first ancestors, played with fire and got burnt. The curse that was placed so many moon's, left us so that have been left to only change once our bond has been forged with our soul mate, our Queen and I have officially broken that cycle! So for anyone who says she isn't our Queen, I can assure you. She is so much more!
That is all until further notice! " Cas's eyes widened, he didn't know either?
I knew he was wondering, how any of this was possible. But he knew better than to question it, he'd seen me change first hand.
"Do I even want to know, how you know that she's changed?" Cas's voice was full of judgement, judgement I didn't need right now.
"I don't appreciate that tone Cas." He sighed next to me, picking up the pace to catch me before I went into the office. Cas's hand slamming the door shut, if he was human I guarantee his hand would be broken.
"Is that you talking or?" His eyes filled with worry, always worry. That's what he seen me as now, something broken he had to keep an eye on.
"I'm fine, she's fine. And no you most definitely don't want to know how I know. So let's leave it at that and, try find out what the hell's going on around this place instead." I guess that was answer enough, because he sighed and stepped away from the door shaking his head. "If I think you need to know something believe me you'll be the first to know." I call back as I slam the door behind me.
My fist slams into the door over and over again, letting the anger flow out like a never ending waterfall, piece's falling around my feet. My hands bloodied, but they'd heal before I could blink. I lean my back against the door, sliding down to the ground. Allowing all my self pity, my anger and pain to break through.
"I can see I'm interrupting a breakdown shall I leave?" Granny Lynn's voice broke me out of my thoughts.
"s**t!" I jumped up, hitting my head against the handle. Lynn gave me a stern look. "I mean, oh crap. I didn't know anyone was in here." I rubbed the back of my head, making my way around to the chairs my parent's, and so forth had all sat at. The chairs Omega and I were supposed to now own.
"My granddaughter was quarantined at your place for three day's and, you didn't think I'd be here wanting answer's after she storms in the house cursing your name. Well son, you really need to wake up." If anyone else had said that it'd probably be their last breaths, but she wasnt anyone. She meant a great deal to the people I loved, therefore she meant a great deal to me.
"Well I am very sorry, but as you would of heard. I don't have answer's right now." I wish I did, I wish I could grab the person, the wolf whatever they are and drive them straight in-to their awaiting grave.
"Well I'd find those answers fast, because as of tomorrow she'll be leaving again." My already broken heart shattered on the floor.
"Tomorrow?" I swallowed the tears, now wasn't the time or place. Even my wolf knew better than to make an appearance right now. "Tomorrow." I repeated the words like they might change.
"After Omega waking up next to you, you should be happy it isn't today. You don't even understand how hard it was to convince her it wasn't safe to drive." Well f**k me, did everyone in this family have to judge me so quickly?
"I only." Lynn put her hand's up to stop me.
"I know you drained the poison. I know it almost killed you both.
You don't need to tell me, I know you enough to know you wouldn't let her die. And for that I'll be forever blessed she had you there. But she doesn't know that, she only knows she past out and woke up next to you." Of course she knew. Why am I not surprised.
"I don't know how to fix this, but I promise you I will." I promise I'll keep trying till my last breath. Lynn smiled.
"I know. Sorry for keeping you, I'll leave you now and get back to Omega she'll be wondering where I got to." I nod.
Lynn walked for the door but stopped, hovering by the door. "It wasn't that breakup that killed her you know, it was learning to live without you." Her word's cut me, burned me alive.
"But she seemed so." So what Asher? I didn't even know.
"But she never really learnt how to live without you silly boy, why do you think she wants to leave. Because every second. Every hour she's near you, is breaking her all over again." I'd never looked at it like that, I'd thought her reasons for needing to leave was all for hate. What in the f**k was I supposed to-do with this information?
