Lily gracefully crossed her legs as she sat on the couch. "It's about what we discussed over the phone. I still felt uneasy just leaving it at that, so I had to come. You must attend Eva's birthday party. How does it look if her sister doesn't show up?"
"I have to work..." Daisy said weakly.
Lily waved her hand dismissively. "What work? Quit it!"
Her arrogant attitude made Daisy both angry and amused.
If she lost her job, she might get kicked out of this apartment next month, the same one Lily looked down on.
If she didn't earn enough money, she couldn't buy Ethan his favorite expensive imported beef.
But saying this to Lily wouldn't help at all.
