Dinner At The Metcalfe’s

Later that evening Rosa came over to get ready with Mia and Cassy. After waiting for Mia for what seemed forever Cassy shouted at her door:

“Amelia Metcalfe are you dead in there? What’s taking so long?”

“I’m done-uh! Stop nagging.” Mia stepped out with an irritated look on her face. “My skin routine takes longer than-“

“What ever, what ever we don’t wanna hear it. Let’s go already we want to see your house. Come on!”

"You sure it's just my house you wanna see?" Mia asked laughing at the now annoyed Cassy. She and Rosa dragged Mia out of the house and walked towards the car.

“Hey isn’t that Cassandra Milton? She’s sucking up to Amelia Metcalfe! How shameless!” one girl said upon seeing the scene.

“I’m sure given the chance you’d probably do the same! Even grown adults suck yp to Amelia Metcalfe!" another replied.

“Isn’t Amelia a stuck up b***h though? Why is she letting Cassandra drag her around?”

“Yeah I heard she never lets anyone get close to her maybe Cassandra has some dirt on her and is blackmailing her.”

Cassandra heard them and she was fuming with anger and wanted to go back and deal with them but Rosa stopped her.

“Metcalfe mansion or jail? Leave those tramps Come on Cassy let’s go!” Rosa pulled her arm and shoved her into the car. Cassy muttered a few curses as they drove away.

“Cassandra you’re such a loose cannon! Learn to behave will you?” Mia said her tone dripping with disdain and so was her expression. “A young lady should always be well behaved.”

The death glare she got from Cassy made her chuckle. Although the Miltons were rich Cassy didn’t share the values of other rich young ladies. The basic lady etiquette was foreign to her. How she behaved was normally based on the situation at hand. Even her table manners weren’t so polished but tonight she was dining with Jason Metcalfe and she was going to put in an effort. She’d had a life time crush on the man .. Her face felt oddly warmer ..

“Wow you live here?” Rosa shouted seeing the castle like house. “It’s huuuuuge!”

“Gosh Amelia how rich is your father really? Don’t you get lost in this house? It’s bigger than our campus!” the two girls laughed while Mia rolled her eyes and Alex came to greet them.

“Miss Mia, young ladies. Please do come in. Mr Metcalfe will be home soon.” Alex said welcoming the girls inside the house.

“Why don’t you show us around Amelia? I’d like to see your room.” Rosa said as they stepped inside.

“Probably has some Sofia the First theme or something.” Cassy said laughing.

“I’m nineteen not five! I have a very sophisticated room. Come check it out.” Mia led the way and the two exchanged looks.

They took an elevator and stopped on the third floor and entered the fourth door.

“Welcome to my room.”

The other had their mouths wide open. The room was big and very spacious modernly furnished. It was nothing short of a presidential suite! The bathroom alone was bigger than either Cassy or Rosa’s rooms.

“Your room looks amazing! Can you adopt me? I wanna live here.” Rosa said teasingly.

“Don’t be silly what am I going to do with a grown up as old as me?” Mia rolled her eyes. “I think that’s my dad downstairs let’s go greet him.”

“Wait what’s that?” Cassy asked seeing an exquisitely packaged box on her bedstead.

“Must be a bag to apologise for last night. I don’t know when he’ll realise I don’t want stupid handbags I just want a portion of his time. You can have it if you want.” Her voice almost revealed her inner most thoughts. She shook her head and headed out of the room with Rosa and Cassy following her.

“Hey princes-“

“Can you stop calling me that?” Mia said while Jason pulled her in a hug kissing the top of her head.

“I’m really sorry about last night. I promise I won’t drop you like that again.” He turned and looked at the other two girls. “Oh another friend?” He looked at Rosa.

“You already apologised .. This is Rosa Montgomery.” Mia turned to Rosa. “Rosa, my dad Jason Metcalfe.”

“Nice to meet you Mr Metcalfe.” Rosa said feeling shy under Jason’s gaze.

“Okay come on lets go eat.” Mia said and all four of them settled around the dining table. The meal was lavish and the atmosphere was serene. Jason looked especially dotingly at his daughter. She was his pride and joy. She had really grown up and seeing her with girls her age made him happy.

“I’ll drop you off back at the dorm.” He offered after they were done with dinner.

“Its okay daddy, I drove here. We’ll go back by ourselves.” Mia replied disappointing the two girls. Riding in Jason's rare Rolls-Royce? They wouldn't refuse!

“It’s late princess, I’ll have Alex drop off your car tomorrow morning okay?” Jason insisted not leaving any room for refusal.

“Fine.” Mia said looking dissatisfied.

Jason drove them back to their dorm and bid them goodbye. The three walked inside the building still chatting about the dinner at Mia’s house.

“Your dad really dotes on you Mia. You’re so lucky to have a father who loves you so much.” Rosa said.

“I know.” She sighed heavily. “Sometimes I tend to forget it. Work takes up so much of his time ..”

Mia went inside the room and went straight to her room. Cassy wondered if they had offended her in someway. Rosa said goodbye and went to her room leaving Cassy alone with her thoughts.
