The Party

They reached their destination and the girls went inside the house. Matt Wells was holding the party and he was friends with Jake Milton. As expected all eyes were on Mia as soon she walked into the house. She was used to the attention and she ignored the eyes and found a nice little cosy corner and started playing with her phone.

“Don’t wonder off I’ll introduce you to some-“

“Don’t bother! I’m not into hook-ups.” Mia cut Cassy off waving her hand in front of her dismissively. Cassy sighed.

“Fine I’ll get us some drinks then. I’ll be right back.” Cassy replied trying to suppress her growing irritation.

“Don’t worry about me I have my imported mineral water here. I can’t drink-“

“Oh shut the hell up Amelia!” Cassy finally snapped then walked away. Mia shrugged then took out her phone and started fiddling with it. Loud laughter coming down the stairs made her lift her eyes and she noticed the hot nag-bag brother walking with a bunch of guys. Her heart started racing for no reason. Even surrounded by a group of handsome guys Jake Milton stood out with his extremely striking features. Mia pretended to be indifferent when they looked over her direction.

“Hey there ..” One of the guys walked up to her and started chatting her up. Mia looked up raising one neatly plucked eyebrow. “You must be Cassy’s new roommate?”

“I am, so what?” Mia asked glancing back at her phone.

“I’m Damon Diaz. I’m her cousin.” Damon introduced himself. Mia looked up and hesitated a minute before she replied.

“I’m Mia. Nice to meet you double D.” She lifted her eyes again and gave him a small smile.

“So you know how to smile Mia? I thought you were going to bite my head off just now.” Damon teased making Mia laugh.

“I really don’t bite unless-“ she trailed off when she felt like someone was glaring at her but when she looked around she didn’t see anyone.

Damon chatted with her for a while and Mia found him interesting. She had hoped the others would join them but they sat by small bar area drinking. Cassy and Rosa came to keep her company when Damon joined the guys again.

“Hitting on the pretty doll so soon Damon?” Rick joked.

“She’s too pretty I’ll bet she’s just an airhead who knows nothing but spending daddy’s money.” Shawn put in making the group laugh.

“I heard she’s just a stuck up b***h who looks down on people. Just look at her expression. She always has that ‘I’m-better-than-you’ look.”

The guys went on roasting Amelia Metcalfe but Damon stood up for her.

“Lets not judge someone before we even know her. Give her a chance maybe she’s not that bad.” He said.

“What do you think Jakey-Chan? You’re awfully quiet today.” Rick said nudging Jake who seemed preoccupied playing with his beer bottle.

“I don’t know. She looks like a little trouble maker.” He replied taking a swig on his beer his deep gaze lingering on the girls profile before his attention was with his friends.

“Cassandra will you and Rosa be okay? My time is almost up.” Mia said getting up and straightening her dress looking at the two slightly tipsy girls.

“Yeah yeah you can leave princess. My brother is here he’ll take us back.” Cassy waved her off and Mia shook her head disapprovingly at her before she turned to leave.

“Hey leaving already? Want me to drop you?” Damon asked following Mia to the door.

“No worries Double D, I’m driving.” Mia dangled her keys in front of him.

“Okay then drive safe. I’ll see you around Mia.” Damon walked back to his friends while Mia went out.

She drove back to her dorm and showered, did her beauty routine then she flopped on the couch and browse through her phone. 1st day at Uni done!

She updated her Insta and a flood of comments followed. After answering a few messages Mia got ready for bed.
