Mia was woken by noise the following morning only to find out it was Cassandra and she was sick with hangover. She stumbled inside and collapsed onto Mia’s expensive leather couch. “Don’t say a word I’m dying. I don’t have the energy to argue with you right now.” Cassy laid on the couch and pressed her temples to elevate her headache. Mia handed her a small sachet making Cassy stare at her for a while. “Hang over medicine but if you don’t want-“ Cassy snatched it from her hands before she could finish what she was saying making Mia chuckle. She opened it and emptied the contents into her mouth. “So you can be nice sometimes?” Cassy asked looking at her. “I have my moments.” Mia said looking smug but Cassy couldn’t argue with her, she had just helped her out anyways. “Well thank you anyways princess.” She spat back rolling her eyes. “Have you made up with your daddy yet?” “He’ll buy me something expensive as a peace offering.” Mia replied her face turning dark with fury. “He dotes on you much.” Cassy said throwing a pillow at her. “You don’t know him ..” She trailed off. “Cassandra how’s your family?” “Huh?” Cassy looked at her in confusion. “What are they like? You’re a big family right? Do you fight, eat together and go on vacations together or what?” Mia asked sitting next to Cassy. “My family is boring Amelia, I’d rather know about you and your rich dad ..” Cassy said finding her own family too dull. “Lets make a deal. I’ll invite you to dinner at my house tonight and next time you invite me to dine at your house. In fact you can invite Rosa as well tonight!” Mia suggested and piqued Cassy’s interest. “Dinner at the Metcalfe mansion? You’re kidding right? Or is this some kind of trap?” She asked not believing what Mia was saying. “Your choice. Come if you want or don’t. It’s an open invitation.” That spoilt brat said and got up and went to her room. Cassy sat there looking dazed for a while trying to figure out what Amelia Metcalfe was really up to. She knew the girl looked down upon others and therefore she was sure she wasn’t trying to make friends with her so she must obviously have an ulterior motive. But then again having Amelia could come in handy for Cassy. Her buzzing phone pulled her out of her trance. “Daddy ..” She responded. “Cassandra, Jake told me you’ve been misbehaving again. You need to come back tonight and have dinner at home. Your mother and I need to have a word with you!” Steve Milton commanded. “No can do daddy I already have plans tonight.” Cassy replied casually. Now was her chance! “What? Are you telling me your little shenanigans are more important than your father?” Steve thundered dangerously. “I’ve been invited by Jason Metcalfe’s daughter to have dinner at her house tonight. Daddy you know how-“ “Did you just say Jason Metcalfe?” Steve asked his tone softer than his previous growl making Cassy roll her eyes. “Oh yeah. Didn’t I tell you? Amelia is my new room mate. We’re now friends and she kindly invited me to her house,” Cassy felt sick thinking about putting Amelia’s name and kindness in the same sentence! “I’ll invite her for dinner at home too. Can I Daddy?” “Of course, of course! Why didn’t you say that sooner? And please don’t embarrass us in front of Metcalfe!” Steve said making Cassy roll her eyes again. “Of course Daddy. Chat soon I need to go.” She dropped the call before Steve could say anything and breathed out a sigh. Sorry Amelia, I had to use you to escape my dad’s wrath! Cassy smirked as she put her phone away. To be honest every family wanted a chance to work with the Metcalfe family and that included the Milton’s. When Steve heard his daughter has become friends with Metcalfe’s daughter he saw an opportunity. One that he was not willing to let slip! He was going to use this opportunity to try and cosy up to Jason and find a way to sign a contract with him. Mia came out of her room dressed in a casual outfit and she went to the small kitchen to make herself a smoothie. “Darn there’s no food!” She had her head poked inside the fridge. “Jason Metcalfe there’s no food here how am I supposed to make my morning smoothie? You ditched me last night and now you didn’t even buy food for my dorm! Are you trying to starve me to death?” Cassy gasped! She couldn’t believe this girl. Amelia is really something else. Doesn’t this girl know to have food she had to go to a supermarket and buy some? Why must her father have to buy food for her? Meanwhile Jason on the other hand was seated in his house having a lavish breakfast .. “Princess didn’t Alex bring any-“ “I don’t ever want to see you again! From now on I don’t have a father!” the phone was thrown away with such force it would have broken into a million pieces if it hadn’t landed on the couch next to Cassy. “Hey are you trying to kill me! Watch were you throw things when you’re having your tantrums okay?” Cassy screamed at her. “Can you shut up! We have no food in the house what are we supposed to eat? Take outs are not healthy you know?” Mia asked clearly annoyed and Cassy laughed. “Do you think a new place comes with food? You’re supposed to buy your own food!” She rolled her eyes. “Amelia you’re too spoilt I can’t believe you’d shout at your father because of this. Listen, give me a few minutes to change and we’ll go to the supermarket and buy our food okay?” Cassy didn’t give her a chance to reply she went to her room and took a short shower then changed into clean clothes. Meanwhile Mia had blocked Jason after rejecting his calls. She was fuming at him still mad for him standing her up the previous night. “Ready to go princess?” Cassy said stepping out of her room. “Don’t call me that and are you really going out looking like that?” Mia asked looking at her with disdain. “We’re going to the supermarket not the freaking runway! Must I wear the latest Chanel dress to a local supermarket?” Cassy rolled her eyes and dragged the ‘princess’ out of the room. “This is not as much fun as shopping for clothes. At least I know which clothing brands to buy. This is hard.” Mia grumbled behind Cassy who was busy comparing prices by the snacks aisle. “Which cookies do you usually eat at home? Chips?” Cassy asked ignoring her mumbling. “I don’t know. When auntie Maria brings the cookies they’re not in the packaging Cassandra! Stop asking me about food brands just pick the most expensive Jason will cover the cost.” Mia said while posing for a selfie with Cassy and their trolley full of food. ‘First time buying groceries, not easy guys!’ She captioned the pic on her Insta. Cassy rolled her eyes while they continued with the grocery shopping. If this girl find grocery shopping hard how does she get good grades? She wondered as pushed the trolley rolling her eyes internally. “Who’s going to help us carry all this stuff Cassandra?” Suddenly Mia asked in a panicked tone. “Between the two of us we have four capable hands. I’m sure we’ll manage just fine!” Cassy replied as if it was the most normal thing but seeing Mia’s horrified look she burst out in fits of laughter. She laughed so hard her stomach was aching. “I cant carry heavy things Cassandra! My delicate hands aren’t capable..” Her eyes turned red like she would start crying any second. “Okay okay I’m joking.” Cassy said wiping tears from the corner of her eyes from laughing too hard. “We’ll get someone to help us. Next time we’ll have the stuff delivered I just wanted you to live like a normal person for once.” “This is not funny.” Mia teasingly hit the back of her head as they went to pay. “Don’t worry I’ll pay and next time it’s on you.” One of the supermarket assistant helped them with the trolley and helped them load their groceries into the back of Mia’s car. Cassy gave him a tip and the girls drove back to the dorm where a surprise was waiting for them. “Princess ..” Jason walked towards her. “You went grocery shopping?” the proud look on his face was evident. “Well if someone doesn’t want to feed me anymore I’m very well capable of doing it myself!” Mia said pouting showing her dissatisfaction while Cassy stood frozen next to her. She was seeing Jason Metcalfe in person! Right in front of her!!! “Princess it was just a slip up on my side. I’m sorry it won’t happen again. Come have breakfast with daddy. I booked a table at Michelin … who’s this young lady?” Jason asked noticing Cassy for the first time.
