What did you just call her?

1038 Words
"Pass me the medium size cup would you?" Lola ask me and I pass her a disposable medium size coffee cup. "Thanks." "Anytime." I say as I turn to answer my next customer. "Hey, what can I get you?" I ask the dark haired guy standing in front of me. He has brown eyes and seemed to be around my age. He says nothing but just stares at me. "My name's David." He suddenly blurts out. Okay? "Um hi David. What can I get you?" I ask again but he says nothing. Now this is just getting weird. "Um... You want an opinion?" I ask unsure again. He shakes his head like he's clearing it. "Nothing. I'm sorry. I'd like a cup of cappuccino." "With extra cream?" I ask as I enter his order into the machine. He nods. "Yes." "Okay that will be $3.26" I print his receipt and I make his coffee. I hand him his coffee and he hands me a five dollar bill. I give him his change and he smiles. "Thanks." "Thank you for drinking from us." I smile and he nods. He turns to walk away but then looks at me "Can I get your number?" He asks suddenly and I frown. What the fudge? "No." "Why?" He asks with a frown. Excuse me? "Excuse me?" I say shocked. I didn't know I had to give a reason for not giving out my number to a guy I'm completely not interested in. "Why don't you wanna gimme your number. It's just a number there's nothing to it." He snaps. Okay, someone got nerves. "Like you said, it's just a number so get the f**k off." I snap back. "You b***h!" He suddenly snaps. "It's girls like you who go sleeping around. It's girls like you who have boyfriends but still f*****g cheat! You all milk guys dry and you're still proud. You are a f*****g w***e!" He shouts and the whole cafe goes silent. Okay that hit a nerve. Who does this mothersucker think he is to go around calling every girl that denies him a w***e? I didn't want to talk but the vixen in me was already out. "What did you just call her?" A thick voice says behind the guy before I could say anything and he turns. I see Matt behind the guy, shooting deadly daggers his way. His blue eyes were suddenly dark and I could feel the air suddenly change. It's about to go down for sure. "What's it to you?" The guy asks back. "I said," He takes a step forward. "What did you just call her?" His voice sounded very threatening. David also takes a step forward. "A w***e. A f*****g wh-" Matt doesn't wait for him to finish his sentence before he punches him and he falls to the ground. "You or no f*****g body gets to call her that!" He points at me. He then walks towards me. Oh my. "Who are you to tell me that huh?" David who's groaning on the floor speaks up which makes Matt stop. Wrong move dude. "Well," He turns to the guy. "I'm the person your father wouldn't dare to f**k with." He starts to walk but stops again. Ohhhhhuuuuuu "Oh and one more thing," Matt bends to the guy's level and whispers something to him. It looks threatening because David's eyes widen and he nods briskly. Matt then pats his shoulder and stands up. "Good talk." He then turns to me and gives me a small smile. "Hey, you okay?" His whole demeanor changes to a soft one and I manage to smile. "Yeah." I nod and I take a look at David you had stood up to leave. "You sure?" He looks me in the eye but I couldn't take the intensity so I look away and nod. "Yes. But you know, I could've defended myself back there." He shrugs."I figured. But hearing those words from his f*****g mouth ticked me off." Where have you been all my life?! Before I could say anything else, Lola rushes to my side and gives me a hug. "Ohmygod Alex are you okay?" I nod. "Such a crazy psycho." She looks at Matt and frowns. "Is this-" She begins and my eyes widen. "Okay Lola, I'm fine. Back to work, you have customers waiting." I push her away and she just smiles. I turn back to Matt. "So black coffee?" I ask and he nods. "With no cream?" I ask again, taking out a cup. "Actually," He begins and I look at him. "I didn't come for coffee." He states. What? "What did you come here for then?" I drop the cup again. "My legs keep bringing me here and I don't know why." He scratches the back of his hair and I tilt my head to the left a little to study him. "Keeps bringing you here?" I ask confused. "You know what? Just add the coffee" He brings out his wallet to pay. I shake my head and make his coffee. I hand it to him and smile but he doesn't look me in the eye. He just takes his coffee and walks out without another word. Okay what was that about? "Isn't that Matt Harper?" Lola lightly nudges me and I nod. "He is." I confirm as I watch him go. "Wonder why he keeps coming to your counter to order coffee when there are three more left free?" I turn to see there are truly three more counters without customers. "Maybe because he coincidentally comes to mine." I say, trying to convince myself than Lola. "Every single time? Even when you have a customer you are attending to?" She raises an eyebrow "Really?" I ask surprised and she nods. "The other day," She continues. "You were serving a customer, he waited behind even though Mateo, Luke and I were free." She crosses her arm. "It's probably nothing. I'm sure it's just because he knows me. That's all, I'm sure." I shrug and she sighs. "If you say so. Just know, his black coffee might need some creaming very soon." With that, she walks away. What the hell does that supposed to mean?!
