kaitlynn was so different than Aiden her job was not adventurous nor did she travel but she loved it she had known since was a little girl there would only one job for her . Kaitlynn had grown up in a small ranch house way out in the countryside of North Carolina in a quaint white house with battered shutters there was nothing remarkable about her childhood home except it was settled beautifully into the mountains with bright green pastures surrounding it filled with horses and cattle she had loved it and felt the pull of it still but Maria had convinced her to follow after her they had grown up best friends Maria knew Kaitlynn better than anyone else she knew the reason Kaitlynn had chosen to be a special needs teacher why it was so important to her growing up they had spent weekends at her aunt's home watching her cousin Justin struggle with his disability Justin was born with Spina bifida a genetic disorder causing a severe permanent curve of the spine in Justin's case the severity of the disinformation of his spine meant he did not grow he would never learn to walk nor would be lead a normal life but it never held him back he never noticed the cruel taunts from the other children to him he was no different than the other 13 year olds he attended football games in his red race car shaped wheel chair and cheered harder than anyone with an infectious laugh and a spirit nothing could dampen he was Kaitlynn's hero and the inspiration for her career choices she loved her job and while it certainly had it's challenges she felt it was her calling Maria also found her calling thru Justin becoming a pediatric surgeon at the top of her field
