Elena couldn’t stop the tears that cascaded down her cheeks. The image of the maid falling to the ground as Dimitri blew her brains off played in her mind repeatedly.
Dimitri cupped her face in his hands as he bent low to kiss her tears away from her cheeks.

Elena could only stare at him as her lips quivered. She kept her mouth shut, unable to speak or think. The fact that he had killed a maid for doing her job told Elena a lot that there was a high chance he had already killed Sebastian.
