Truth

"I didn't want to leave" Ian says, as he pulls on the shirt Kyle let him borrow after his shower. "But dad. I couldn't take it anymore. The abuse. He hit me. Constantly. I thought if I left, I would save you and mom from getting the same abuse I got"

I shake my head "No. Dad abused me after you 'died'. Abused me, even r***d me" I shudder at that memory "Finally I met Kyle. My mate. He had just became alpha two years ago after his father dropped down from his position." A slight smile raises on my lips. "He saved me. Brought me to the pack house to live with him. To protect me and help me"

"I'm sorry I left you and mom. I thought he wouldn't hit you. I thought it would be easier. He always said I was a weak son. Would never be strong and be a warrior like he wanted" Ian says while looking up at me.

His eyes meet mine, and I can't even believe that he is here. But my question is. "Where have you been?" I whisper hoping not to be to touchy.

His eyes darken "I went rouge. Scavenged for food, bathed in lakes or ponds I found, lived mostly in my wolf form. But I never ventured to far away from the pack. Just waited for the right time to come back. Faking my death wasn't that hard. I just.. Disappeared. And I'm so sorry Beth. I just wanted to protect you. I thought I was"

"You didn't know. It's fine. I forgive you. I promise. I'm just glad your okay. Your here now." I put my jacket on, and go towards the door "Wanna go for a run with Kyle, Jen and I?"

He smiles "Yes. I haven't seen your wolf yet"

I laugh "Nothing you haven't seen before"

There's nothing like the wind blowing through your fur. Nothing but the scent of nature and your fellow pack members around you. All the colors of the plants, trees, dirt. The sounds of nature. Rabbits hopping, birds chirping, our paws hitting the ground together.

I look to my left and smile at the large black wolf to my side. Kyle's green eyes meet mine and I see his wolf smirk and surge ahead. My wolf howls a playful howl and Kyle returns it with a howl.

To my right Ian's wolf is big, not as big as Kyle though. But he's a dark brown wolf with specks of blonde fur. His bright blue eyes, pop because of his dark fur.

Jen is a smaller wolf, most females are smaller than males, and her wolf is such a beautiful silver color, I'm actually jealous. But her wolf has purple eyes, which is rare. Most of our wolves just have our eyes. Some don't though. Like Jen, and even me, my normal eyes are blue, but my wolf's eyes are gold, and my fur is a bright white. I'm just a little bit bigger than Jen, but I'm also older.

Ian playfully runs into me and by instinct I growl at him and his ears go back in defense mode, but then I lower my head apologizing and he perks back up.

All four of us make it to the top of the hill we were running up, and I look over the landscape. It's beautiful. There's a small pond, and there's always deer that pass through, unless one of the younger wolves get ahold of them. Us older ones don't bother with hunting, unless it's rouges or mutts.

I go next to Kyle and circle around him, as he watches me closely. Then I smirk and run down the hill towards the pond. Just as I reach the pond I'm knocked into it, and I fly through the air until I hit the water.

I stand up and shake my head and look up. But see no one. Then I'm jumped on from behind and howl out in pain as their claws dig into my shoulders.

I don't know who this wolf is, but I'm going to find out.

But by the time I turn around the wolf is running into the woods. I look up and Kyle growls and starts to take off after the wolf. 'Kyle. No. Let it go' I mind link him.

I see him battling with his wolf as he stops for a minuet then takes a couple steps in the direction of the wolf then stops again.

Kyle's eyes by now are so dark they are almost black with anger, frustration and confusion. 'He's in the pack. I can smell it on him. But I can't tap into his thoughts. Must have a wall up. But who is it?' Jen says coming up next to me.

'I don't know. But I'm going to find out' Kyle growls loudly.
