Chapter 8

Unknown POV   He gently nudged the unconscious woman at his feet. She was lucky that he had decided to go with chloroform rather than choking her out. This would mean a speedier recovery for her. He shook his head as he gently pulled a jacket over her and made sure that her bright, red converse sneakers were sticking out of the bushes, highly visible and easy to spot by morning joggers.    She would be found in a few hours and probably wouldn’t stir before then anyway. He had doused that cloth with enough of the stuff to knock out an elephant let alone a small statured woman who was a hundred pounds soaking wet. She would get a nice long nap and Emmersyn would be taught her lesson. The damn woman needed to know that he was not f*****g around. He meant what he said, and he always followed through on his threats. Though, now that he thought about it, they were so much threats as warnings and promises. It was better that Emmersyn learned that now, he would hate to have to use more forceful tactics in the future.    His goal had been to get the child and therefor bring Emmersyn to him. Willingly. Under her own power. He knew that wherever his future step son went she would follow. He had not anticipated a few things. Though, in hindsight, he should have. His Emmersyn was a smart woman. He should have known that the house would have a state-of-the-art alarm system. Though that would not have prepared him for the fact that the alarm was set while people were still in the residence. A mistake that he would not be making twice.    The moment that he had forced open the sunroom window, the alarm had blared and the kid had run upstairs and out of sight while the Nanny had attempted to hold him off. It had only taken about a minute to subdue her, but by then the kid had hidden himself and the police were on the way. The hurried search he had been able to make of the upstairs hadn’t turned up the boy and so he had grabbed the Nanny and fled. It wasn’t time for Emmersyn to know who he was yet. He needed to make her understand the grave mistake she had made before he put his ring on her finger.    She knew what he wanted and he was going to get it.    He walked down the street, assured and happy with the path he had chosen. He would just have to try a different tact in order to get his hands on that kid. He didn’t want to hurt anyone; however, Emmersyn had to see that he was serious. He smiled at the thought of the little note he had put in her bathroom before he left. His calling card. He wanted her to know that her days as a single mother were over, that he had come to collect what was his. And that meant that she needed to fix her mistakes and straighten up.   He could not believe that she would willingly turn her back on her first lucrative book series. Didn’t she know how much those characters meant to him? He had told her often enough about how it felt like they were his friends. How they had gotten him through the tough days on his job.    Saving people and putting yourself in harm’s way is not for the lighthearted. He does his job well and has the accolades to prove it, but at the end of the day Emmersyn’s characters were what made it possible for him to relax and unwind. And now she was throwing over their friend group for some immature and ungrateful teenagers!   But that was ok. She would learn this lesson and then he would bring her to their home where she belongs.  He would finally have his wife and son at home with him. He would have her stories first hand; her sultry voice to soothe his mind, and her sexy body to satiate his lust.    Speaking of lust, he had needs.  His c**k was hard just thinking about the things that he would do to Emmersyn once she wore his rings. He would never sully her by having s*x out of wedlock, so he would go to the loose women. They would use their hands to get him off, give him release and relief, in the end he would still keep his body pure for her. Only Emmersyn would receive his sperm. Only she would gift him with children.    With a joyful laugh at the thought of Emmersyn round and pregnant with his child, he pulled out his phone and dialed a familiar number. “Sarah baby, cancel your plans tonight. I have a situation that I need you to handle.”   The woman on the other end gave a flirtatious giggle and sighed into the phone, “You know where the key is.”
